Proud new owner of a 42mm 2500C checking in. You can read the thrilling saga of how the watch came to me here. Picked it up from it's service this morning, and loving the enthusiasm for it I am reading here. I know it is a modern watch, but it seems such a throwback to earlier styles without any hint of kitsch.

I had friends with me when I took possession of it before I sent it for a service, and I think it is the first watch of mine they were as excited as I was about. One asked me if I'd mind if he picked up the same model. I offered to go to Weirs on Grafton Street with him to look at the PO range and he said, "No. I want that one". 馃榾

I loved my 2500 PO. It was my only watch for at least a year. The lack of date on the 300mc loured me away, but I still missed the bracelet.

Love mine. Built like a tank and looks great.

Already a classic...

I agree. Loved my 2500 so much as a daily wear that I talked myself into getting an 8500 too. Sold the latter as it was just bulkier and less easy to wear than the 2500.

Here's mine, still going strong after more than a decade. Can you tell that it's been a daily beater for years? 馃榿

I didn't know we had a dedicated thread for this specific watch. The title says it all imho, so I just want to agree with everyone. It's everything I want from a contemporary sports watch, including size (45.5mm version for me). Over on ye olde vintage forum we get very excited over 35mm, so my 2500 is almost too much pleasure. The size and weight is not for everyone, and not for all occasions, but sometimes if you're gonna go big, then go BIG.

I also really appreciate how when the dial furniture catches the light just so, it's dazzling. That helps my eyes as well as being just beautiful. In general, the legibility is excellent. Something else not mentioned above that I like a lot - on the back, the biggest seahorse of all. Just as I love my 1958 SM's "big" seahorse, I love my 2500 "huge" version too, so with all the great photos on this thread already maybe we need one here for the record.

I think that the "white writing" 2500 is the classic of SMPOs, but it's great to see how this line has developed. But if I ever have the money to choose another, maybe I could be tempted by the Good Planet. So many watches, so little time!

The watch is incredibly reliable if you have had it serviced properly. It is very legible, has excellent lume. Looks great on a factory bracelet or strap. Looks great on a NATO. The proportions, even the 45 mm was only 15 mm thick. The first generation PO was a perfect watch.

45.5 on a nato is ambitious, unless you are Haf镁贸r J煤l铆us Bj枚rnsson.

( I own a 45.5 3313 POC) I'm not sure I could pull that off at 6'4 (1.93m)

This watch just never leaves my wrist. Very legible dial, great lume, great proportions.
Classic for sure.

I had the same feeling for quite some time, until I finally decided to hunt for mine.
I was lucky to find earlier this year a mint, very late production, 2500D and I'm very happy I finally pulled the trigger.

Perfect proportions on this watch. The only version that somewhat improved on this one is the LMLE, but prices have gotten a little out of hand for those...

I'll keep looking or hope that Omega decides to revert their PO line back to these classics in their next update.

This is my big hope too. If they go back to 42mm and 14mm thick, I'll get one.

I have owned a lot of dive watches in my time. The PO2500 and the Tudor Pelagos are the best pure Tool watches made IMO.
