I miss my PO 2500 C Black Bezel Black Dial. It originally came with a leather strap. I didn't care for that so my AD in Burlingame swapped it for the standard black Omega rubber (?) strap that was issued at the time.

I also bought an Omega Speedmaster Date with a blue dial 3212.80.00 at around the same time.I Always liked the heavy rotor of the 7750. You could always feel it swing. The 3212.80.00 reminded me of my youth when everyone was using ETA / Valjoux motors and just producing the case, bracelet, and maybe dial. The rest was marketing. Remember when people blinged out their Brietlings in the early 00? How about the Sel Chronos circa 1995? Same engines different glossy catalogs. What happened to all those S/els? They made like a billion of them. In the 80's when Heuer was bought by the turbo twins it was all about marketing. Read mastering time. They had the six features of a sports watch. Those were some pretty good guidelines for selecting a sports watch.

Anyway, for me the 2500 PO is a very balanced watch. Not to big. Not to small. Not too tall. Good size dial. Easy to read. Excellent design. Good clean lugs ( more on that later). Nice case back. Comfortable bracelet ( I tried on the steel bracelet). Fantastic bezel. The aluminum bezels were great. Ceramic is nice. Aluminum just feels period correct. Not too pretentious. You can wear it with just about anything.

Durable. It could take a knock. I liked that.

The lugs are classic on the 2500. Definite Omega DNA. They are a signature feature.

I generally never buy a watch with an exposed crown. The PO has this DNA of the old 300's. The crown is recessed into the case without obvious crown guards. Very well executed.

I have owned four SMPC's (still own two the oldest is 7 years old) with 2500 D motors and I think these motors are great. Reliable and accurate.

I owned a PO with a 2500 C and had zero issues. I know some 2500 C motors may have been over lubricated from the factory, but mine ran like a champ.

The 2500 PO is a watch that is confidant enough to be itself. It has substance (like New Order). That's what makes it a classic.

I got a new strap for my PO, and put it on this morning. Black genuine shark leather with silver stitching and a unmarked commercial deployment clasp. Totally changes my watch. I love the grain on these shark straps, and have another on a Tudor BB 41.

Sold mine plus Breitling Navi to fund my first Submariner. I love the Rolex but really miss the PO. Don’t miss Breitling at all. Was going to buy another one but ended up with GoodPlanet GMT which is awesome 55B23737-32E2-43A1-8141-D2C1AE36C1BA.jpeg

Yes! I completely agree. The size was bang on (well, the lack of thiQQness)
The orange bezel doesn't do it for me but I do like that slick black bezeled PO a lot!!
Bummed I missed the memo on the limited edition 2500's, they are in the stratosphere now
