Picked up the Rio Nato strap over the weekend to pair up with my 2998. The OEM leather strap is nice, but it's very dressy, so was looking to dress it down a bit. Have to say, really pleased with the results! What do y'all think?
The local OB suggested this one for my CK2998. It's a nice strap, but it didn't work for me. I didn't care for the lane numbers, because it just read like a generic part number placeholder, but the OB suggested I could just flip that keeper to hide the number. Good idea, but still didn't work for me. Do you have a picture of the CK2998 on the leather NATO, or were you referring to the blue alligator it comes on?
Thanks for the correction, I was indeed referring to the blue alligator it came on. It's a great strap, but just makes it tough to wear frequently. Another option to turn this into a daily wearer is of course the bracelet, which many owners seem to be gravitating towards. That's probably what I would do next.
I dressed mine down with a suede strap...some folks have also used a blue/grey suede strap which also looks great.
I definitely like the suede option. To me, it helps counterbalance the shininess/ brightness of the watch. I'm still planning to get to the OB at some point to go through some strap options, as I agree about the blue alligator.
Another nice option might be a blue leather nato from Jean Rousseau like @Traveler has: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-nato-straps.24676/page-6#post-284455 But the roughened brown suede also looks aces.
What about one of these? I don't have one yet but they seem nice, I'm considering ordering one (for a different watch). They also have a grey one with blue stitching that might work. http://test1.miltat.com/material/canvas/mt-lec2b05-13bs.html
I was at the South Coast Plaza OB and someone was looking at that strap for that watch but went with s Speedy bracelet . I could have sworn Omega had a blue NATO with white edges...
The Rio Nato strap matches it really well. Great fine. I haven't explore nato strap yet. I may try soon. They said you can't called them "nato" anymore ha.
I love the watch, hate that Nato. U think the original strap works better or a more traditional nautical Nato.
First post here. (Hi folks! Hope you don't find me rude jumping right into discussion.) Love the hue and the matte finish of the stock blue straps, but I was also hoping to dress down the CK2998 a little. Just received this leather NATO by Clockwork Synergy. I think it works. What do you guys think?
