The poor sucker who won that auction better not show up at an OMEGA store looking wearing that thing. He/she might be surprised by the response they get from staff when they spot it.

The response will be....nothing. Just like when someone puts an Omega buckle on any aftermarket strap...

There's nothing Omega or the boutique can do about it....it's not their watch anymore one they sell it, although they try to convince everyone they should still have control over it for some reason.

Cheers, Al

I think he meant that the boutique guys will laugh at him

Okay, but that would be odd behaviour for a salesperson...

Yes. I corrected my comment.

Not if they have a sense of humor

Personally I think they would be laughing at him more (on the inside I would hope) for spending $170 or whatever for one of the Omega NATO straps...

Bought an omega nato pre owned on WUS. I got it for a price im pretty sure i could sell it for. It is very nice...but worth the premium? I dunno.

It does have a very substantial feel, reminds me of an airplane seatbelt.

Have you held the OMEGA Nato? The fabric is NOT like the kind you would buy from Phoenix. It is made from seatbelt material (or something similar) making it the strongest strap I have ever worn. It is equally comfortable on the wrist too. So, $170 for one OMEGA strap that will out last the combined 6 G10 straps is worth every penny. You are only limited by color selection compared to other Nato/RAF strap makers.

Yes, I have one Omega nato. Its on the watch at the moment. I admit it is nicer than the G10's. I like how the holes are closer together so it is easier to get the right fit. I would say its subjectively twice as good as a G10.

Does anyone know the price of the leather Nato or the black coated nylon with leather backing? let me guess, $600?

Leather was mid 200s, buttery soft but didn't catch my eye
The nylon was $220 I believe
Got a 20% discount at the ad
Very thick nato, super comfortable, and great on a speedy
I have a bunch of natos and since I splurged on the Omega ones I haven't looked back
Sure they are kind of a rip off...but everything in the luxury category is kind of a rip off ($800 for a steel bracelet?)

All-in at the Omega Boutique mine was $240 or $250.

Just bought the X33 on an Omega nato. The quality is exceptional and it's soooo comfortable. But worth the price? No, but are any of the OEM straps worth the price?

I think the leather and tactical nylon nato straps are worth the price. Can't find anything comparable to them in fit, finish, materials and comfort unless you go with custom made, and even then the price will be similar if not more than what Omega charges.

Well the ones pictured in my post are cheaper - they are made by the manufacturer that makes them for Omega - the only difference is the buckle and what is printed on the back - and the retail is $145 - expensive but less than Omega (especially for the leather )

I remember you mentioning this before - well, thanks for destroying my argument! But I didn't know they were the same people that OEM for the Omega natos.
But I'll definitely be ordering a few from them soon to see how them stack up - I'm currently loving the 20mm black tactical nylon I sourced.

Yes - but to be clear, just the leather ones and the fabric backed by leather ones ( chocolate brown and blue new colors in my post above ) ... These guys do not make the 100% fabric Natos (stripes etc) - I have not found anything comparable to those in quality so far ( or price! 😵‍💫 )

Had to update, just to say - I put the leather one on my 145.022 and as I put it on I literally said 'wow' - this is the best feel of any strap I have worn - the leather is amazing, unbelievably soft. It's in no way distressed, so not a look everyone will go for on a vintage piece, but it's soooo comfortable ...
