Get upgraded to the best suite of this Hotel, not shure will do the same at home but great with my Speedy today.
Impressive decor! The suite isn't as expensive as I would have guessed (at least based on the prices quoted during COVID). I (used to) travel to Zurich pretty regularly; I'd consider it, but it's on the wrong side of town compared to our offices (in Langstrasse) and while I could figure out the cost, I don't want to have a half-hour commute if I can avoid it.
Looking at the floor and ceiling finishes, they can probably get away with not cleaning too often and no one will be able to tell I have only been to Zurich once, and it was an overnight stay. The hotel had a mix-up on our reservation and the room we were put in was barely big enough for the two single beds. Definitely not nearly as grand as the place in this thread!
I spent a Christmas alone in a Zurich hotel. I was 19 and didn’t know how to meet girls. Especially those girls. Which is fine b/c I had about $8 in my pocket. It was 1980. I had a bottle of vodka and some Toblerone chocolate, and when I woke up on the 25th I took a couple of shots and a couple of pieces of chocolate. In bed. It was a bit depressing, but remains as an amazing memory.
Our trip was around x-mas as well, as we were going to spend a handful of days in Austria at a ski resort, watching the world collapse from all the Y2K computer issues. Sadly the world did not collapse and we had to return home on January 2.
Interesting decor... unusual to see floor and ceiling match as in the bedroom and living room. Needs a Moonwatch Only book on the bookshelf.
I like the idea of the room, but it is a bit unsettling. If nothing else, I guess it doesn't matter if you spill your drink on the carpet!
I think they have 8 suites with a specific theme , last week was the sports bar men suite , with a babyfoot and a box bag to play in it .
