My wife is a dollar store hound, she doesn't need to be by any stretch, but she likes bargain hunting. Anyway, she tells me that there are two type of dollar stores...stores where everything really is a dollar, and those that start at a dollar. I think you found the latter😉.

World record now is under 5 seconds, I think its 4.79. That's hyperspeed, even to me. They have all categories now...foot solving, blind solving(with raised dots)...one handed even(yes!), so its evolved now and experiencing a resurgence.

I haven't picked one up to solve in about 10 yrs now, so I'm going to give it a try shortly with the new one.

dollar stores are a front! i swear!!! nothing in there is a dollar. with tax it comes out to 1.07. but of course 99 cents looks better on the awning 👍

That may be, but even if I wanted to sell them, I wouldn't know how to anyway. Many states here in US now restrict selling and carrying these knives. Its hollywood depicting these as evil I think, just like certain rifles...don't get me started there. Many are lumped into a gravity knife category, or poorly classified as an automatic because it only takes one hand to open. Lots of silliness. Here I can carry because I have a concealed weapons permit. I'm pretty sure they are not allowed otherwise. Also I think anything over 3" can't be carried either..but I could be wrong. Been a long time since I carried a knife in my pocket so i'm not up on the current rules.

ah i see. that is definitely true. im from a city where race plays a big big part of who gets stopped for carrying a knife. as a knife enthusiast, the legalities have always been a pita! that being said, its nice to have friends in other states with more relaxed laws. if you ever did want to move them, bladeforums or jerzeedevil would be the place.

Well, so maybe I'm wrong... I'll give it a go, but with an gentle one.....Charleville Rampart Rifle, 1833. Before its time on many counts. Percussion, rifled barrel, breech loader. 90cal. I cast my own balls with a fishing sinker mold that works perfect. Designed for distance between muskets and cannons, ie 200-600m. On the underside is a pintle to mount on a battlement. Trust me this is too heavy to hold.

Hi

Everyone... been collecting spring driven devices for many many years aka things with springs. Here is a pics of my new layout of clocks and one phonograph ...

And setting up my new office

Oooooooo, what's going on here? Looks like some super duper custom dope ass design and finish work.

If you don't mind...what city are you located in? ...the architecture (facades) of the buildings across the street looks familiar but also a bit alien to me. 1920's ornate - could be Ridgewood (Queens) NY, D.C. or maybe Toronto or someplace like that.

Hi @No.15
Love the tubes...used to have a lot of tube equipment..... My dad was a RCA super tube distributor from late 50's till he sold is company to Arrow Electronics in about 1970.

I remember as a kid taking apart tube testing machine for the meter heavy magnetic Core. I won't tell you what I did with old stock I found in his warehouse when I was a kid.....

Good Hunting

Bill

Clocks, of course

Old light meters from when men were men and cameras were mechanical. I actually used to use the Weston Mater V.

That looks more like your ex wine collection
On the meter front I've been looking to pick up a kodak retina IIc and a meter will probably be needed.

Yes, no meter in that one. Finding a vintage meter that actually works is difficult. There's an iPhone app for that, however.

As a former professional advertising photographer for 25 years……simply finding two light meters that agree… is a challenge in itself
