As a former professional advertising photographer for 25 years……simply finding two light meters that agree… is a challenge in itself

I agree, but you really only need to calibrate your meter, camera and development once

I collect all sorts of stuff. My house looks like a Cabinet of Curiosities. 😀 🤨 but following the Space theme of JMH above, I have a few bits and bobs from NASA's Gemini and Apollo missions. Countdown procedures and the like. One of my most valuable to me pieces is this;

9amyx0.jpg
A checklist for the Apollo 1 Space Vehicle Plugs out test. Ran on the 27th of January 1967.

This was one used on that very day when there was an oxygen fire that led to tragedy that claimed the lives of astronauts Gus Grissom, Roger Chaffee and Ed White. In the lead up to the emergency there are various entires scribbled in the margins, including the slight O2 increase to the suits. Then after the hold procedure and subsequent fire the pages remain white and scribble free.

I collect small owls of any kinds and materials 😎

You need a sad owl.

Bought it for Mrs Standy who likes owls. Don't think she thought the sad owl was as cute as I did 😕

Not sure if this counts as a collection but I like things in glass cases. If space and money allowed it I'd have a large scratch-built steam locomotive and a model ship or two, but these will do for now. The perch is dated 1906. The "folk art" ship in bottle was £1 at a boot sale. Apologies for bad lighting.

The early space stamps were killer !!!

Personally, I was doing abit of Star Wars figures... was looking for an old boba fett figure... but it turns out to be a few thousand bucks.... have a few hot toys figures of boba fett...

I collect board games too! X wing, Imperial Assault, and i enjoy painting them figures abit.

I use to play in a band, so use to be crazy over guitars and pedals (pedal board with 25+ pedals). I still keep my 1982 Fender MIA strat and some pedals.

Wanted to start on the Air Jordan stuff but jesus the amount of reissues are ridiculous and crazy prices.

Not much of a card collector....I don't drive so lucky me (Singapore is crazy to own a car).

What else do you guys collect?

Records.
I have collected and dealt vinyl records for 30 years. Soul focused mainly. i can go on and on for days, I'll spare you.

Antiquarian books.
I have a collection of classic literature, ladies and housewife manuals, and letter writer and writing guides. I adore pretension and purple prose - the more seriously the writer takes him/herself, the bigger kick i get out of reading their words.
I also collect mid-century design books and technical manuals as I have an obsession with schematic drawings, blueprints etc which I see as art rather than design.

Printed matter.
I fetishise the art of print and typography - especially mid century Soviet printing and letter types so have a collection of albums, posters, books, labels and the like which I really dig. Their paper stock, ink tones and layouts are absolutely stunning, so the collection is quite broad in type.

Robert Del Naja art
Lead vocalist for Massive Attack, RDN also known as 3D is a prolific artist - I collect his prints, books, records etc.

Vintage surfboards
My kids surf, I'm always in opshops, flea markets etc, so have begun picking a few up and have already got quite a collection going

Tattoos
What started with a totally rad 90s tribal armband has slowly spread to most of my body. People that talk about their tattoos' deeper meanings are insufferable.

My Grandfather served in the RNZAF during WWII. These are his Air Gunner wings, alongside the badge(?) from his Majors uniform, the rank he was when he retired.
