Since I had the pimping tag associated with a post, I invite those to re-read the post. I simply posted asking prices for the watch. I must have missed the sentence where I said I can’t wait to sell mine for the huge profit. I even went back and looked, couldn’t find it.
No post is appropriate without a snapshot or two C5E67ACA-798F-4E29-A664-D02EE47DA18C.jpeg E8896691-3454-4FD1-9A4E-8F2BF65E6447.jpeg

"a post"? Try multiple posts across a couple of threads, all expressing amazement at the quick rise in "value" (i.e. asking prices) for your watch. Revise history all you want, the posts were pretty transparent in their intent.

I've got an idea for a thread - a daily screenshot of the "value" of the TinTin from Chrono24's "Watch Collection". Could be riveting. :)

I don't understand why some get so fired up when others post about the market value for a watch. I don't buy watches for their resale value but I have to admit it does factor into my decision making sometimes even though it's just small. And most of the watch pundits out there mention it and discuss it. And we are collectors after all. I think there is a big difference between those buying to simply sell for a profit and those that collect what they like but like to know what they collect has value.

I think the big issue is presenting asking prices, and not actual sold prices. Asking prices do not tell the real story -- sold prices do.

I totally agree. That's why you can use some tools like Watchrecon.com, Chrono24's watch collecting tool, and the Watchbox app pricing tool (not their pricing but market data) to get an idea and then use common sense. But really the true value of anything is only what others will pay for it.

I liked these threads better when we argued about how many Tintins were actually made, rather than how much the value is going to go up in future...

Turning 35 in a couple of days, and I can still rock my TinTin on a "cognac" leather B&R rally strap. My wife says it's her favorite of my watches.

Probably will always have them, unless somebody offers stupid money. Won’t happen but you never know. As for the Tintin, I guess speculating on prices is taboo, will probably always have it unless somebody offers stoooopid money. If anyone sees one for 4 grand with SS bracelet post it up. The watch is kinda groovy and there are only 1500, so we could see stoopid money in a couple years or not. 2701621F-C5CA-49C7-8A3E-7B3DEC728550.jpeg DD47AF8B-4B20-4D93-9E29-FF2AE356A23E.jpeg 81D37315-BA19-435D-BEEF-1B2BB72C737C.jpeg

No, the Schumacher wasn't a Speedmaster Professional case and movement. The Schumacher had a smaller case and an automatic movement. It also had a different aesthetic.

Since it has been several weeks, Chrono24 has two specimens of the "Tintin" for over $9,000.
    Absolutely insane.
    Almost forgot obligatory pictures

What would be insane is someone actually paying that much.

Agree. Asking prices and sold prices can differ a lot.

Indeed that's another point. Some people also tease the market to create a case and argue the watch value has jumped!

Another crazy inflationary LE Omega. Ultraman upwards of $10,000 on Chrono24.
Nobody will pay that...…….. or will they?
