Pun Pun
Very beautiful in concept and in execution both. Would you please forward me the link of the supplier. I’d perhaps order one for my TinTin as well.

Dangerous9 watch straps, links to the blog site come up

The TinTin is a watch with a nice story behind it. I would like to know what happened if they could make the deal with the TinTin-publisher and I would like to know how the watch would be look like exactly.

There is a prototype in Omega's museum. Shooting is not allowed...

We'll never know what would have happened. I assume Icewatch sold a lot of Tintin related watches though. How the original would have looked we do know. But I did not see it at the Omega museum when I was there last week.

If I recall, it's locked away in a cabinet, away from prying eyes? If it was out in the open, people would be snapping photos left and right. You'd probably have to make a special request to see it.

Not sure if its appropriate to start posting "artist impression guestimates" on how it likely would have looked? I guess not doing so adds to the mystery, right?

No mystery--people already know what it would have looked like--basically just has a little rocket on the dial from 10-12. Exact sketches have been floating around. Not posted anywhere on the site though. Honestly, I'm pretty satisfied with what we got--the original doesn't look much different (the front anyhow).

@Wombat123 if you are interested to see how it really looks, send me a PM and I'll drop by your houseboat. Will cost you some coffee though...

Thanks for the comments. I know a fair few have been bought off the back of my review, and I'm pleased to say I'm still enjoying mine a lot

I still kick myself in the butt for passing on the TinTin. I had the opportunity at a dealer to buy it new and passed for a plain moon. I thought long and hard about it. And now the prices have sky rocketed(no pun intended) haha

I was wearing the Tin Tin last night when eating at a restaurant. The place has only been open for a week, so it wasn't very crowded and the managment staff was good about coming around and talking with customers. One manager was standing about 10 feet awy from our table for a while, and then he came over and said "Excuse me, but I have to ask -- is that some sort of special Speedmaster you are wearing?" It turns out he is into vintage Seamasters (he was wearing a '50s Seamaster), and is gunning for a 'Racing' Speedy or a new Aqua Terra.

It was the first time a stranger has asked me about a watch. My dad was there with me, and was amazed that someone would come up and ask about something like that. And I think he was a little disappointed when his ss Cartier tank quartz did not warrant attention 😁
Great story.
