I'm not so sure that it is Ok, as that case does not appear to be correct. I do not believe that the lugs are correct for an early Geneve, so it may well be a "franken".

The reference number on the inside of the case back will tell the story, but you should be prepared for an unhappy ending.

Agreed. That looks more like an early 1960s Seamaster case. Compare to my 1962 Seamaster 14389’s case:

The case/lugs on an early Genève should look like this:

Just arrived per mail:

I pulled the trigger because to me the price was right. Crown not original, but otherwise look ok. Unless some of you can blow me of my cloud😀
Ref 14713 caliber 267.
I’m afraid to say this is a franken watch as this reference Case does not come with this dial.

Well guys, I think you are right. I was focussing too much on the dial, where I should have paid attention to all of the elements. The case is correct dor the 14713-CK. The movement matches the dial? It is a 267 cal movement. So it appears that the dial with movement is placed in another case. Still like the watch though, although it now officially is a franken watch😀.
Lesson learned: don’t buy when you are tired:whipped:

Was the watch in any way misrepresented by the seller? Perhaps you have a basis for returning it and getting a refund?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Although this is really a nice watch in good condition I cannot agree more with you guys that this is a franken. I can undo the sell and get my money back.
Kudos!

Would you say the dial is also correct? Most of the Genève wordings are often more centered between the Omega and the dial center, yours is quite high

I have seen it on a few occasions, but always wondered if that was correct.

Maybe others can share their thoughts?

Ps: agree with others re. case ofc

dial indeed correct. Geneve is higher on the 34mm models and lower on 36mm models, where there is greater dial real estate as it were .

Like Ollie said: dial is OK. Luckily I was fully refunded so for me no harm done and a lesson learned. Still like the dial very much though!

Hi all,

I stumbled across this one:

However I could only find one other picture of a Geneve with "Automatic" and "Geneve" in the top half of the dial. What is your impression? Does the caseback (no picture from the inside) fit the information that its 14k? I am tempted to buy it

It looks OK, except for the poor replacement crown. It might not be easy to find a correct replacement.

The reason that most don't have "Automatic" on the dial is that a very high percentage were manual-wind!

A trio of 2748s in stainless, vivid yellow and veritable rose gold, I’ve never seen one in platinum or WG.
All 3 are beautiful. I think I would like the SS.
