A small turn on my collection plan. I have LE watches, some notable watches and started on birth year for family members... Within that I have a 4 line 1971 5512. ( Steve McQueen model and my birth year). Having such an early and one of the first 4 line subs I decided to look for the last on its line... 14060m random serial. Last of the classic aluminum bezel subs with 4 line dial and equipped with the Parachrom hairspring. So now I have an old and new sub and an old and new GMT (1675 & 16710). Maybe the start of a trend if I get the vintage explorer and a vintage daytona)

That faded bezel GMT is awesome.
yes it is. One of my favorite finds. Just had it serviced too which is really a nice peace of mind.

Thank you. It is a great find as it checks two boxes; a 5512 and a birth year classic. I was keen on a pointed lug guild but the birth year tipped me over.

Nice trend. Nicely done!

p.s. When do you get started on the Daytonas? 😉

I only have one Daytona. A modern one. I'll know the vintage I want when I see it and of course when I can afford it.

The Daytona vintage is what got me to buy the Primero De Luca ( see sales forum under my name). I love the white panda Paul Newman but a good pre Newman black on black or black on white would be nice. Something without the metal bezel and if I could perhaps manual wind. Love the el Primero Daytonas but it would be interesting to go back a tad more.

Then of course if I can link it to 1967 or 1966 even better . That's sister and wife Birth years ( I didn't tell you that... If they ask let's say 76 and 77)

So as you see plenty to choose from within those parameters. If there's more than one choice I'll see which one sings to me the loudest.

Here's a 1966 and a 1967. But I'm not really about to spend that much right now. They do check most of the boxes. And perhaps the bezel can remain steel too come think of it
