Hello all, off to an Indian restaurant and then the new Bob Marley film to night. Low to mid expectations, going with people we travelled to Jamaica with earlier this winter, so lots of experts!

Amazing how such a variety of birds congregated in one spot. What are the chances?

and their poses are almost like a jigsaw puzzle, the way they fill the frame.

speaking of posing, you don't often run into a group of bird this patient.

And what are the odds of him having a camera?

Morning all. An original Audubon #1, circa 1898, for your viewing pleasure. Have a great day!
When I was an undergraduate student at Duke University, I had a work study job as a front desk/reception person at the library’s rare book room. The university had a spectacular rare book collection, but one of the real showpieces is a four volume double elephant folio set of Audubon’s Birds of America. The books are massive and are displayed in a glass case. The staff turn the pages once a month and the illustrations are extraordinary. You can’t really appreciate how beautiful they are until you’ve seen them in person.

Wow. Beautiful! I have Audubon originals 1-4 with #s 1 & 2 adorning my office wall. I grabbed them from the trash can where they were tossed as they were cleaning out a building when I was a grad student at Auburn.

Different note: I was raised a Tarheel. My dad graduated from UNC. The world stopped at my house when Carolina played basketball and those are pleasant memories…and I still think that Duke’s Tommy Amaker and Johnny Dawkins may have been the best 1-2 guard combo ever to play.

Your Dad went to UNC, Rick? Is it too late for me to ask you to return my Speedmaster? 😁😁😁

In that vein, my one of my favorite Guard/Forward combos ever was Phil Ford and Walter Davis of the ‘Heels.

Been pondering this a bit. What are the chances that a Speedmaster being sold from a Duke grad ends up with the son of a Carolina grad…all from being on this forum? Small world and that watch has a great heritage in more ways than one. Great addition to the story that the watch can tell!

That was actually pretty funny. How about this...

A bluejay, woodpecker, and a swallow walked into a bar.....

I hear the music is good, and it is an OK movie. The family was heavily involved, so you will only see the good side. I'm a big Marley fan so will definitely see it.

Like all modern cars, my headlights come on automatically.

Tonight I realized that I have no idea how to turn them off.

I got lamb biryani, it was pretty good. The lamb was very tasty, and the rice was savoury, but a little dry. I never remember the names of what I get at Indian restaurants, but its always good and mostly chicken or lamb grilled.

Yup that`s pretty much it. I have been listening to Bob for something like 45 years and know much of the story of his life. Rita Marley had a prominent place in this film and is also one of the producers. I did not know that it was her who got Bob into Rastafarianism. The film was basically too short and ended very abruptly. They also should have shown more of the beautiful side of Jamaica, its people, nature and colourful homes and not just the violence. Even thou the 1970 was extremely violent in Jamaica, it would have made a better movie visually.
