Add another micro adjust. You can either do it yourself if you have a miniature drill press (0.9mm is probably the right size bit, and I recommend cobalt bits) or take it to an experienced Jeweler who can do that for you. Used to be "common" practice...

The things you learn when you hang out at the water cooler. Pretty cool!

I had a similar issue with my Apollo 11 50th flat link fit to what @CBM1590 is experiencing.
I can't guarantee that a 0.9 mm drill bit is exactly the right size for the 2000's style 1861 bracelet microadjust springbar, but it was the right size for me.

The water cooler is only about three feet tall and requires no steps. It’s safe to come back 😁. I’m just leaning on it surfing the ‘net trying to figure out if the $15 Italian leather strap on Amazon is really $85-$100 less in quality and looks from the Veblenist or Bulang and Sons versions for my Speedy. 👍

Are the company named after this guy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorstein_Veblen

Maybe their straps are Veblen goods?

Veblen was an economist who was against the concept of “production for profit”. No non-governmental organization ever survived, for any great length of time, operating consistently in the red. He also died in 1929. Doubtful he has anything in common with either company except in his name.

Love the bracelet, but I am seriously stuck between sizing. Take a link out and too tight, leave it in adjust the micro adjust and it’s a bit big.
Is it an 1861? If so, I 100% recommend the half-link from Uncle Straps.

I was also between sizes and couldn’t wear the bracelet. After screwing in the half link, my Speedmaster bracelet now fits perfectly on my 6.75” wrist. It’s all I wear. The US leather straps are also very nice for $45.

I like Watch Steward elastic single pass straps for my Speedy. $25 bucks, made in the US, and the most comfortable strap you will wear. I like the TDM material the best. Stretchy but firm.

Some photos.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, they are out of black, but I think I’ll try the black/white stripe or the gray/white stripe.

Had no idea such existed. I agree with @wagudc . The things you learn hanging out at the water cooler…who knew? 👍

Better suggestion than mine for sure, hope it solves the issue!

Both remedies were unknown to me. Both will solve the problem but your solution is more novel. If I had a small drill press among my many tools, I’d give it a whirl. The half link solution will cost me about what having someone to drill would and keeps me from having to do so. Both ideas are appreciated!

Thanks! I've been using the 'cheapest nato's brand elastic bands and these seem like a decent step up in quality without getting too expensive.

Good thought. Was contemplating these two,..but I am admittedly miserly at times, hence the saunter down Amazon Lane (But who the hell puts a $15 strap on a Speedmaster??)

Hi. I've been having similar thoughts on ripstop straps.
But I've not yet purchased one. Anyway, here is another alternative from Italy :

I've purchased several times from GLC in the past and it is good quality for the money and if you want something custom made, they are also quite responsive and helpful and it does not cost more in my experience.

Can second their quality! I did not know they started Ripstop straps and I will definitely be buying one. I also just texted them to see if they will make a custom black Ripstop for me. While typing this comment, they quickly replied and said they “do make bespoke straps and will get back to me tomorrow as it’s night time” so my fingers are crossed.

I have both the green Ripstop

And blue Ripstop

From B&S and love them both. I have been patiently waiting for them to make a black one as I think it would age real nice, but if Glc can do that, 👍👍👍

Will you please relay their response, SB? Thanks! I’m fond of the BandS green ripstop in the condition of yours. Not as fond of the new out of the box look. Bet it took quite a bit of wearing to get yours in that, what I think, is the preferable look. Black would likely age and fade well.

I’m also a big fan of that worn ripstop look. The green looks great but black is more my style. But, I’m also a bracelet guy through and through so not sure I’d stick with a strap on the Speedy for any length of time.

Well there’s 3 potential orders to discuss with the strap company, @Scarecrow Boat . Tell ‘em we want a volume discount 😁

Any news on the possibility of a black ripstop?
