Get ready for a diamond dot constellation.

I'll take her over Daniel Craig seven days a week.

And twice on Sundays.

I always wondered how many 00 designations there are in the Bond universe. Does it start with 000 and go up to 009?

I believe it's a minimum of 9, starting at 001 up to 009. You can see all of them together near the beginning of Thunderball.

There have been references to agents 0011, 0012, and 0013 as well.

There’s definitely nothing wrong with wanting to dress like Bond,

To do that with the current bond I would have to squeeze into my suit I wore for my high school graduation 33 years ago.........

Pretty certain your Wife(s) / Daughter(s) / Sister(s) will make up the shortfall…

Shortfall? Haven't we already had that one?

Actually Roland was never described in the book as being white. Only has blue like eyes(once) and vaguely like Stephen King once. Neither was Shadow in American Gods another time people freaked out over this.

Also by definition cultural appropriation cannot be claimed by dominant groups.

But sure.

Numerous references in the DT series to Roland being white, including the blue eyes, but if you choose to suspend belief completely and take common sense out of the equation along with it, then sure, Elba was perfect for the role with his blue contacts.

Bond, the topic of the thread, was white as the paper his character was written on, so why mention Shadowmoon in an attempt to refute my post? Personally I found the casting in AG to be brilliant, top to bottom.

Definition? It's a PC overreach which is racially insensitive and marginalizes other cultures, to say nothing of being culturally divisive instead of seeking to promote inclusiveness and acceptance, but I don't expect you to see how with words from me, so let's just agree to disagree on that one.

As for the main thrust, I get that 007 is retired, and I am a fan of this actor's work on 'Billions' so I look forward to seeing how she does.

Just political correctness run amok. After Craig does his last appearance next year, I'm out. The new 007: Female, check, black, check, gay, TBD. No thank you, not interested.

Hey, whoa there! You've left out "single parent" and "some kind of disability physical or mental"?

I'm just picturing Bond in the menopause..... #can't be naffed? me too!

No. You're thinking of Skyfall... 😀

Wasn't that the name of the Asian kid sidekick in some of the Indiana Jones movies? 😟

Okay thought so - yes I like her in Billions as well. The new 007 I don't believe I've seen in anything yet.

I nominate this "actor" to be Bond #26. As a WIS, he also ticks the minority group box. 😀

In Moonraker (the novel, not the movie), it's clearly stated that there are three agents in the 00 section: 007, 008, and 0011. The numbers may change a bit in subsequent books, but I usually look to the creator of the character for the real info.

I can’t remember the movie title, one of roger Moore’s, agent 006 dies at the begging.... something in a circus? Can’t remember.

Actually never mind. After reading through @padders link I remember most of the listed 00

Wasn't Bardems’ character also a 00 before he went rogue?

Bardem’s character was implied to be an ex 00 but never explicitly stated.

The villain of Goldeneye (Alec) was shown as 006 at the beginning of the movie before he turned. He's probably the most well known other 00 agent. That movie had a pretty cool opening since we got to see two 00's working together as a team.

There were a bunch of 00's seated at a table in Thunderball... including a woman.

She is not Bond. In the story Bond retires and his number is reassigned. She is not the first female nor the first female Black agent, nor the first time a number has been re-issued in the movies.

I fail to see how this offends anyone.

After this they are taking time off and a new Bond will be cast. It’s fairly obvious that after the reaction to this, and the reaction to Idris Elba being considered a few years ago as the next Bond, that James Bond will stay a white male.

Agreed. Remember Barbara Brocolli isn’t going to do anything to upset her cash cow
