Hi guys,

Little update for my Omega collection. Last time I was anticipating a release was for the Speedy 50th anniversary and was not very fond of it so I skipped it. Fortunately, I kept my money for the next one released, the Seamaster 300M 007 edition which ,I must admit, caught my eye directly. I have always been a huge fan of the Seamaster models and the last one was a gift for my graduation, so I also keep a close history with it. I have to say I just love this one, the lightness is unbelievable, the details, the choice of components, color, etc... I just love every single part of it... Also a very nice thing is the official arrow from the UK's Ministry of Defense which relates to the real history between Omega and the Ministry when they provided half of the 110'000 watches they purchased during WW2.

I also went ahead and bought the NATO bracelet for it, so I have the complete set.

So a few days ago I received my precious, which will stay for a looooong time in my life.

Enjoy some pics.

You’ve definitely captured the essence of Bond in your pictures

I was very dismissive of the 007 Edition when it was first released. Although I still feel it’s slightly overpriced, I now really appreciate its uniqueness and would love one myself.

Enjoy and wear it in good health!

Great photo's. I agree it is a really light on the wrist watch, with a very comfy Milanese bracelet, great dial and aluminium bezel insert. I have a few vintage British military watches and love a broadarrow on a dial, although the purists won't like it. My only grip is that for the price, it should come with the Nato and a springbar tool included. Mine gains 0.5 secs per day, the Metas movements are superb. Enjoy in good health.

Sure the difference in the price between the regular line and this one is steep. But I also understand why. A friend of mine is head of the prototypes lab at Omega and we talked about how much development and energy was put into this piece. For example just the bracelet took more than a year to develop due to a lot of problems regarding the welding of the links, they had so many issues with that. So in the end for sure it will add extra to the price.

But I also think they could have added the NATO strap and the tool for the price...

What I really dig about this one, is that even for the non-007 fans, it's still a piece you can enjoy because it doesn't scream 007. I can understand many people are not into 007 at all but still can enjoy it.

I have the Casino Royale limited edition which I love, because of the references to 007 with the barrel cadran, but I know many people don't like it at all. It's just about personal preferences. Someday I will probably add a regular 2531.80 Seamaster as well.

Personaly I like commemorative models.

That’s some interesting information, thanks for sharing it. It’s helped me to appreciate the thought process behind the development of the 007 Edition more now.

Speaking of personal preference, the NATO and the tool should have been standard for me at the price point it’s currently at. No need to retail them as two separate watch designs.

Interestingly, the majority of pre-owned 007 Edition’s I’ve come across are NATO strap models. Says a lot to me...

Yes I agree, the thought that has gone into this watch shines through and many of the qualities are hard to describe or appreciate without seeing it in person and wearing it regularly. Personally I was happy to pay the price and would again.......
