Damn, but those Mark 4.5s really do float my boat.
I had an option on one a few years ago, for just €1600.
Numpty that I am, I didn't bite.
Regretting it now.

I think the hard thing is getting one in nice condition, as they are quite chunky watches, and prone to the odd bash that shows up badly on the sunburst effect on the case. Mine was great when I bought it, and after wearing it and bashing it a few times, I now must try and be extra careful. But I just love wearing it - has such a great look about it, and I think still undervalued for what they ar (Chrono 24 has an estimated ave value at about £2,800)

Wow - two excellent examples!
Thanks, they are my two favorite watches.

After spending roughly 48 years around Huntington, West Virginia, this one came back to Europe just 2 days ago. Sold by the grandson of the original owner and with pretty much everything it came with back then. Perfect vintage for me, worn and has seen places and things on the wrist of a man in world's that no longer exist.

Today I got my Mark II Speedy back from my watchmaker. He is an Omega-authorized one and changed one of the buttons (reset button).
It was suddendly stuck using it and he was assuming, it could have been broken or bent.
After the service he said, that it was simply full of dirt and verdigris (correct word?). For his work and the original (new) pusher he took 125 Euro.

This is just to tell so far, a lot of guys are asking here about repair prices and availability of parts etc.

Now I still have the original pusher and my question is: can it be used again, after a good cleaning? As a spare part for me?

I would save that pusher, they are very simple to clean and install if you ever had an issue again. Watch looks great!

Verdigris is a fair approximation. There is a strict definition which you can read about: Verdigris - CAMEO (mfa.org) Copper is a very reactive metal and will form blue and green compounds readily with almost anything organicy.

Your watch looks great BTW. I would clean and keep the old pusher.

50 years ago ... Soviet-Russian cosmonauts visited the Paris Air Show and in May 1973 they were invited at Omega HQ in Bienne - Switzerland.
An invitation which was triggered after the huge Press coverage of the September 1971 IAF conference in Lucerne, where the Apollo 13 astronauts and the Soyuz 9 cosmonauts were awarded medals and awards for their achievements.
At Omega, the cosmonauts were presented pilot watches and these bulkier Omega Speedmaster mark-series were their favorite watches.
By June 1973, we see the Russian ASTP crew, Leonov & Kubasov training at Star City wearing the Omega flightmaster pilot watch. Omega watches were worn by almost each-&-every cosmonaut in StarCity Moscow...
In July 1974, the Omega flightmaster made it into space onboard Soyuz 14 and the Speedmaster Mark III was worn in space during Soyuz 15...
More soon as MoonwatchUniverse will be celebrating some " 50th anniversaries "

Awesome! The TV dial Speedie has been on my want list for a long time now, I really love the design.
