I’m a huge fan of the Speedy Marks. From my collection of Speedmasters

My very first Speedmaster. The Mark II reissue.
Then these followed in no particular order.

Also have these in the collection…

Should I
My Omega Speedmaster MK2: the case has a circular finish which slightly worries me but other than that it’s all good. I have put it on a leather strap for everyday wearing… purchase only last month, this is the first watch I’ve bought.

I would be grateful of any advice. Should I be at all worried that it has a circular finish rather than sunburst, and I understand that the bracelet which is a no.12 is certainly not the ‘correct’ one.

The factory finish is a brushed sunburst pattern on top, polished chamfer, and straight brushing on the side. I don't understand what you mean asking if you should be 'worried' about your watch. I'd want a factory finish on a Mark 2 because it's unique and looks really nice when done properly.

Beyond the finish, I think you’ll unfortunately find that the hands are also incorrect.

This was an eBay purchase a while ago - when it arrived I was delighted to see that it had its original finish. The second image shows just how big the depth of the case is.

Why oh why? What was Omega thinking? "Hey boss we've had this really stand-out idea of aa totally unique design feature....." Was it brave? Was it nuts?
I'm just trying to imagine the response if someone popped up on kickstarter with a new watch with a case standing so high above the wearer's wrist....

I agree it looks crazy in the image, but it is actually quite comfortable on the wrist. The case width is 41mm.

I no longer officially own a Mark series as needs meant I had to sell my Mk2 a couple of years ago.

However a recent acquisition has kind of brought me back in as it is sometimes incorrectly referred to as the Mk4.5.

I'll be honest I like it even more than my old Mk.2, and I absolutely loved that watch.

Thought I'd add a couple pics to this thread.

Here go with a quick snap. I too like these watches "just because I do" and find myself with feelings of apathy toward other Speedmasters; I can't help it.
Do I want a Mk3? Yup.
Gradually sold all four, flipped to buy some other watch. And yet here I am....

Besides Soviet-Russian cosmonaut Nikolai Rukavishnikov wearing a big Omega Speedmaster Mark III during Soyuz 33 training (1973), we have seen the Mark III on the wrist of at least one NASA astronaut;
This October 1978 photo shows NASA astronaut Apollo 14 LMP Edgar Mitchell signing autograph, wearing what looks like a silver dial Omega Speedmaster Mark III automatic ?

Edit: no response to my question mark but this might have been a Doxa Sub 200 T-Graph
