Hello!

I've been a member on this forum but I'm not very active.
I'm from Sweden so I mostly hang out on swedish sites.
I'm a watchmaking student and I've been collecting vintage watches a couple of years prior to my watchmaking studies began. The last years I've owned approximately 400-500 watches that have been around and sold. Currently I maybe have 20-30 watches. I try to keep the amount down. Ideally for me would be a collection of 5-10 watches.

Hi @kopykat (and the other new members), care to share some of your current collection with us...perhaps on the What Are You Wearing Today thread?

Cheers

Hello all! New member here! Almost 33 years old, military wife and dog-mom, currently stationed in Oklahoma City. My husband is a big watch fan, especially of Omega. He got me into watches last year. I started off with a modest collection, but recently purchased my first Omega after trying it on at an AD and then waiting a month to pull the trigger. My current collection is:

Seiko SARB033
Tissot PR 100 Sport Chic
Frederique Constant Classics Carree Ladies
Movado Faceto

And of course, my newest love... Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra. 38mm with shimmer blue-grey dial.

The majority of watch forums and discussions center around men's watches. I've been heavily considering creating a blog and social media account dedicated to women's only timepieces (not the junk Chinese fashion watches either).

Some of my "grail" watches would be:

Omega Tresor - the newest ones, though I haven't seen them in person yet to decide which beauty I'd love the most
Cartier Tank Solo XL - the men's version, which is automatic
Rolex Datejust 36

Hello,

I've been lurking here for a little while but I haven't posted anything until now. I've been interested in watches since since I was a kid. I always enjoyed looking at my father's and his father's watches. They had a nice assortment between the two of them (which included Patek Philippe, Rolex, Piaget, Cartier, etc.).

I only got my first decent watch a few years ago (a Tag Heuer Aquaracer) but my real interest has always been in Omega. I was around nine when Goldeneye came out and I remember thinking that the scene in which Pierce Brosnan cuts through the floor of the train car with the laser buult into his Seamaster was just about the coolest thing I had ever seen. (And then the video game came out and you could actually use the watch laser as a weapon, which I also thought was fantastic.)

Anyway, in the interim years between then and now, I've grown to appreciate Omega based on their continual innovation and interesting history. And after all this time I was able to purchase my dream watch just two weeks ago: a new 43.5mm Planet Ocean with the wonderful 8900 movement. I'm sure this will not be my last Omega purchase (I certainly see a Speedmaster in my future) and I look forward to enjoying and contributing to this fine forum.

Hello!

I have been a member of the forum for a bit and posting here and there. Only now getting around to writing this out, my apologies!

I am Rich, a recently university graduated finance professional based in my hometown of Chicago. I have been interested in and passionate about watches my whole life, starting with a rep sub purchased from the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul when I was ten years old, carrying through to my most recent purchase, a -69 speedmaster.

My collection consists of the mentioned -69 speedmaster, a few vintage Movado dress pieces, and a daily wearer Caravelle 666 “Sea Hunter.” While controversial, I wish I could say the rep submariner is still in my watch box. Unfortunately, twelve year old me misplaced it as is not unexpected of a twelve year old.

Wrapping up, hello all! Looking forward to contributing on a more regular basis. While I am well read regarding omegas and speedmasters, take it easy on me as I’m still getting fully into the forum world.

Lastly, a photo!

Hi All, I work for a big tech company in the Real Estate Space. I've been into watches since I was a kid. My dad was a collector--everything from Girard Perregaux to Vacheron and Patek. I've always been fascinated by the historical significance of many brands as well as the many complications. I have a few pieces that I've acquired over the years from hard work and will keep growing my collection 😀

Hello All:

I am a new member and posted my first post in the vintage discussion today (Omega 30T2).

I have been collecting watches for about 35 years. I started out with pocket watches and then moved to wrist watches. I jump back and forth between both passions at present. My current collecting obsession has been mostly wrist watches of the 30s and 40s. Don't really know why - I just like them! I collect both US and Swiss watches.

I have about a dozen Omegas at present and my most prized is a solid gold constellation with original strap and case.

Besides watches, I collect and restore vintage British motorcycles.

I look forward to being a member of this group of fellow enthusiasts.

Rick

Here's one of my solid gold Omegas.

Hi all:

Longtime reader, first time poster. I’m a real estate developer from the SE Unites States. I’m very interested in vintage pieces, and looking to add some to the collection. I’ve always been a passionate investor and follow the value-oriented approaches of Graham & Dodd, Warren Buffet, etc.. This philosophy carries over to watches. I’m always on the hunt for a unique, ‘undervalued’ piece.

I look forward to being a contributing part of this great community!

I was looking at my post history and saw that I did not properly introduced myself here... so better late than ever.

I'm Solenn and live in France (please forgive me if I sound a little strange, English is not my first language)). Almost 37 years old, I was an engineer in applied scientific computing (in the automotive and space industry), I switched careers a few years back to be a independant watch repairman. Now I really know what is inside! But I usually don't have time to work on my own watches, most of them are waiting for some parts, a service, ...

I have always been fascinated by watches (mostly the vintage ones), must have been the only teenager in my town to carry a mechanical pocket watch! My pet subject is USSR watches. A few of mine :

Good day gents!

I'm Paul, based in Europe. I'm a tailoring enthusiast, sometimes writing for TheRake.com and I have developed a strong liking for watches over time. I have a great deal to learn from you and am admittedly rather new to the vintage considerations. Educating yourself is a lifelong journey and I have just embarked but I will be reading and, at one point hopefully, contributing to the forum.

My current watches are Rolex, Omega Speedmasters and two Patek (a Nautilus and a Calatrava). Here are some!

Hi all

I joined on here a few years back, so thought it about time I posted here!
I'm an ex product designer and teacher; no longer working due to ill health.
I've been 'into' watches for quite a few years; not surprisingly, appreciating the design aesthetics and the engineering.

Back in 2013 I had a nice 'little' collection...

y6sqwAm.jpg

But had to sell them off to buy a car!... so for a few years, up to April 2018 this was what I had...

8pynmYH.jpg

Then, having saved some funds and been re-bitted by the (watch) bug I started to look at watches again and the inevitable happened!...

The PO has gone already gone (it was too heavy for me, see above) I have also bought/sold a Sinn EZM13 and bought a titanium Fortis chronograph, a Sinn T2 and Tudor Pelagos, which will probably go as well. I'd ideally (think/hope) to be able to get it down to six!... my plan being to have the Speedmaster FOIS, a Pelagos replacement (maybe a titanium PO or Seamaster) my Fortis ti chrono plus my Fortis Cosmonaut, the Sinn T2, the G-shock (M5600) beater and probably the PRS4 too....well, that's the plan!...and I do have six spaces in my watch box!...oh, and I would like to have another 2500 Aqua Terra, the one I've sold and would've liked to have kept!

Cheers 😀

Hi everybody, have been reading for a while in the background but would like to step up my game here as I see a lot of very valuable collector-level information passing by. My name is Andy, I’m a financial advisor located in Belgium, and I’m passionate about vintage pieces. Modern watches just don’t do it for me. I am now mainly active on the Dutch Horlogeforum.nl, and on IG (follow me here: https://www.instagram.com/a_pylyser/ ). Some recent pictures of watches in my collection (I have +50 in total):

That is a very nice AT. We were in a Omega store a month or so ago, I was looking at esssentially all the Omega’s, and my wife was drawn to this one

Hello everyone,

My name is Robert, living in Austria. Working as a Business Unit Manager travelling in the US and Japan.
Started my watch „career“ with an Omega Seamaster and a Moonwatch in the early 90ˋs and continued with Panerai and Rolex.
I am back to Omega since app. 3 years enjoying the new big 44,25 mm Moonwatch Chrono and recently added the Racing version.
Decided to join the forum because I rate it as the most professional Omega forum worldwide.
