You have to give the Russians a nod for practical thinking. Why use a specialized pen that is designed to work in zero gravity when a pencil will accomplish the same thing? 😀

I always laughed at the joke about how NASA spent millions to develop a pen that would work in space and the Russians just used pencils. But it’s not true (not implying that’s what you said). NASA used pencils as well and Fischer developed the pen independently. Fischer must have seen the marketing potential of being involved with the space program like our favorite watch company. The Russians also use the pen.
