Hey gang, I've just been out to pick up a rather cool piece of data visualisation art by a guy called Paul Button, that tracks the Apollo missions - thought others might want to grab one of the limited run (he has about 50 left). http://www.madefromdata.com/product/apollo Goes with the Apollo 11 star chart that I picked up in San Francisco last year: https://cognitive-surplus.com/products/apollo-11-tlc-star-chart-screen-print-poster Anyone else into this kinda stuff? What's on your walls?
Great find and right up my street. Had to order one. Running out of wall space for space art. Photos to follow of the wall at moment.
I have the Beatles song charts (no longer available) on my wall from this site: https://www.popchartlab.com/collections/prints-all On topic, they have this cool one I've been eyeing:
My pleasure, but not sure if they quite fit under the OP's title - affordable space art ! May need to release a watch or two for some of the one's on my wall.
I dont have any " Affordable Space Art " to show but I do have a large wall poster in my room of a dare devil's stratospheric jump from the edge of space
Hey, awesome post. Thank you. I like these things as well and also ordered the Apollo 11 poster about 10 sec after viewing your post I like most "space" things and thinking about the vastness of space kind of calms me down sometimes. I work with environmental impact assessments and sometimes I get pretty sad because of how we are treating this planet. Then it is nice to remember that (some kind of) life is probably abundant in the universe and that humankind can only mess up one planet.
Here's a blast from the past. My brother obtained this poster during of height of the Apollo excitement, when he was about 11 years old. It was distributed by General Electric Canada. It shows the famous Earth Rise from Moon picture (Apollo 8, in 1968) but I think poster predates the manned landing that occurred just a few months later.
One of my favourites, popularized by data visualization scholar Edward Tufte, a cyclogram from the Salyut 6 mission. Poster available for 16 dollars or so at: https://www.edwardtufte.com/tufte/posters Sold some time ago by Christie's for a few dollars more: http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/...-exploration-salyut-6-10-5388667-details.aspx Here's a lo-res version I was able to dig up on the spot:
I caved and bought the one that @tyrantlizardrex posted originally. I think the gf will approve more when she sees it in person.
