Hi all

Thought I’d share a couple of snaps of my recent arrival. Like many before me have proclaimed, ‘the photos just don’t do it justice’.

To be perfectly honest, this was a (well-informed) impulse bid. For at least a couple of years I’ve been an on and off observer of vintage omega’s and a casual peruser of the forum and have always ‘um-ed’ and ‘ah-ed’ over what should be my first purchase - lo and behold, influenced by one too many beers one I decided to pull the trigger - no regrets.

I’d like to thank the general community whose contribution has lead to this - this is a tremendous forum which I hope to eventually contribute to meaningfully.

As an aside, the bloke sitting next to me on the train undoubtedly thinks I’m a nutter considering of been staring and taking photos the entire train ride.

Here’s to a non-productive day!

Likewise, congratulations - it’s all about condition and you’ve got that nailed.
And don't worry, this hobby is more of an addiction, so it’s bound to be the first of many.

That’s really nice, especially with a suit they’re a perfect match. You’ll want to budget a service of the movement only from a good independent just so you’re not doing any wear to the parts and get them to change the case back seal while they’re at it so it’s a little more moisture resistant. Also it might be worth looking at the 7-row beads of rice bracelet as an option, both they and the flat link 1035 bracelet look excellent on these.

But yea condition wise that’s an excellent one and it suits your wrist and attire perfectly.

Nice going! For me the only drawback is the filled leather. It stands out a little too much. But hey, that’s my opinion. If you’re happy wit it…

Nice one to start the collection 👎

Same here. Nice flat black leather strap will suit better. Thin lugs thin strap is a good thing to remember. (Just my guide I go by)

Thanks all, safe to say I am chuffed.

@STANDY @Plees - absolutely agree. The strap came with the watch and so is a placeholder at the minute. I am going to take on the advice from @dsio and will be looking into a 7 row BOR bracelet. In terms of next steps, should I do my due diligence and inquire within the forum or should I look to source from ebay?

Keep an eye out on the forum, but eBay is most likely where you’ll find it. Just be aware there are fakes around too but more of the 5 row than 7 row. If you see something suspiciously new and cheap out of Thailand for example its likely a knockoff.

as others have said, a plain black strap, or lizard print looks good ( less ‘in your face’ than croc)

if you’re looking for a BOR, remember that you need one with 19mm end links to fit your Connie.
These are a lot less common than the 18mm versions that were used on the majority of Constellations.
