·I’m seeing more and more “vintage reps” which are troublesome. A 60’s Seamaster, granted it was 40mm but I wasn’t seeing many “fake” vintage seamasters until recently. Now they are getting pretty good with the patina on fake vintage rolexes and tudors. I imagine it’s easy enough to pick out to a well trained eye but I find it concerning as it seems they are putting more and more effort into mimicking the vintage stuff. Makes you nervous enough to consider buying just new low tier seikos but of course even the 100 dollar seikos have fakes

·It’s more important than ever that consumers be well educated. I fear we are going to be seeing a rash of “look what I got” or “is this original” threads pop up post purchase.
The thing that irks me about the new member “is this original” threads is that they clearly have doubts- but bought it anyway. If you feel like you are possibly being scammed- you are probably right.
I don’t mind the new member query prior to a purchase as much as some others do- they are trying to do their homework and this is the first stop. We all have to start somewhere....let’s just hope we can save a few souls before they jump.
