This is painful- that is serious money- more than if the watch had been 100% correct and pristine!!

I have a feeling this is another one of those cancers that doesn’t go away any time soon. I really hope ebay Authenticator reject these pieces of crap, it would be a good litmus test for the program.
Sadly, they are below the $2k threshold so don’t think they will go through the process .
That.
And the fact that they originate in the UK where the authentication program doesn't exist (AFAIK).
I messaged the seller, just for fun, asking whether the dial was original. He replied that it was “professionally restored”. Two problems with that. The first is that my dictionary says that “restored” means returned to an original state. The second is that there’s no mention of this “restoration” in the listing. Instead it’s described as in “near mint condition”, which I find a very misleading phrase too.
It sold for £640.
was really surprised to look through his completed listings. The dude is a criminal. But… the buyers leave positive feedback.
ignorance is bliss?
Added a new one just after these finished.
His completed listings.
Holy shit!! Look at the bid counts for those! No doubt there is a ton of shilling going on, but there are some real bidders in there. I’m actually saddened by this.
