That is interesting, I actually had a snipe set at over 3x the final eBay price myself in the original auction and believed no one sane would ever surpass it haha. ALWAYS try an offer before leaving a bid is the lesson for anyone using eBay I guess.

I had been sad all week about this one escaping, it is a big relief it made its way to you in the end Michael, forget the price, amazing watch! 馃憤

I don't mind lining the dealers pocket, he was brave enough to buy from those photos and I got the most perfect black dial Constellation I have owned. 馃憤
拢3800 I paid for those who are interested, which to me is well worth it.
Cheers, Michael

Just an update on this one.
I was told by a friend that the hands may just need gently wiping with rodico to bring the colour back and remove the tarnish, low and behold a gentle wipe had them back to gold and the tarnish was gone, pretty strange really, the AML was the same.
Interesting to see that the wording and markers are in negative relief too which is I didn鈥檛 know, I always thought these dial had gold print.

What a stunner! 馃グ....but it's a 2852, the 2853 is the Deluxe.

As a noob, how can I determine 2852 from 2853? If the caseback has both 2852 and 2853 engraved, like the one OP posted, isn't it then a Deluxe model?

Deluxe also has an 18k dial.
