ah... sometimes you win, sometimes you lose

Looking for another project watch i won an auction in a c-case

was concerned when the crown wouldnt budge...

got her open to find this horror story! I can salvage the balance assembly at least but the keyless works is toast

The case itself is nice so I guess im back on the auctions looking for another donor movement 🙁

Don't know if this has been shared before, but just saw a FS ad, about an odd Connie which popped up on my feed. It's a 18k gold 'Kim Il-Sung' dial Omega Constellation. Had never seen anything like it before, except a similar one to @DrSpock intervention here...

Not posting a picture or link as im not sure it's allowed?

Its allowed to post pictures.

The colorscheme is impressive, just noticed the warped star though

I was looking at some dials to determine whether a weird watch I came across was a redial or not, and noticed how different the stars can be

Do you guys think size matters?

As a bit of a spoiler, the one on the right, despite his visual shortcomings, is a better performer, I didn't pay too much attention to what was wrong with the one on the left, either the tension is wrong or the time keeping needs calibration

Oh poor boy is this Sanskrit?

It's Korean written with blood

All I can say (if you didn't already know) is that the one on the left has a Portuguese day disc. Is it yours?

😁 yeah it is mine
👍
I know very little of this model, but I'm curious if it has a hallmark stamp anywhere in the case, as was common in watches delivered/sold in Portugal? Otherwise it could also have been for the Brazilian market.

The disc is from a watchmaker in Portugal

I want to share my secretly rare brushed dial and T index, can't believe this one didn't sell for months, there's also another brushed dial on the earlier thin index variant

After buying 2-3 more rare watches I'll probably make my collection public, I also built several tools to help me hunt, considering making them public too but I want a brown dial and a matte black dial first 😁

I tried buying a matte black dial for the 3rd time now, first time got a blue grey, second time a silver gilt, and a blue grey again recently, love each of them but it's so hard assessing what's what from online photos 😀

I didn't know there are black dial variations for the c-case. Hope you find one and share it with us!

Already regret selling this one, but it had a few marks on the dial that I couldn't ignore. Also I love how the light reflects so differently on the dial depending on the angle 😀

I think it looks lovely, is the issue that the logo looks to have come from a newer dial?

I am really thinking I might pull the trigger on this one anyway as it comes with the 1040 bracelet and even if its not as collectible, I really like it...

I am gonna need to sell one of my other c-cases to justify this purchase methinks though

added a pic of the one im eying off, i think the crown has been swapped too, although it is a signed crown...

Altough those two dials you`re posted are very well made and to my eye looking legit the T for Tritium are missing on both so at last the hands are not the right ones.
The crown is not the right one to.
I say redial but nearly original.

The seller wants $800 does thst seem reasonable given theres also the 1040 bracelet?
