A bitter happy moment today, I thought I bought a single owner matte black dial variant a month ago, after buying that, my next target was the blue-gray sunburst variant, everyday I was looking everywhere for one - the only example online was this one: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-constellation-168-017-grey-blue-dial.97481/ - I even pm'ed the member hoping I could ask the buyer to sell, but the member didn't reply 😁

Well, the single-owner matte black arrived today, and it was actually the blue-gray sunburst variant, certainly a suprise, but I wasn't sure whether I should be happy or shocked 😁 / Seller's photos definitely made it appear matte black

I bought the one below beforehand, it's definitely a matte black variant, and I have a set of dauphine hands, and another set of baton steel hands that will fit, as I don't think those white hands are original?

^ Would appreciate advice, if the dial is original, it's a very early example I believe, as tiny 'swiss made' stamps are rare - the white hands are perplexing, I assumed they are not original, but what/where are they from? (the watch is in US storage, going to ship it to myself soon)

I assume 168.017 - I'd be pretty suprised if it isn't

Thanks for sharing

And a not-fun fact from me, Ladies C-Case's cost 75% as much as regular sized ones, crazy, for other watches it's 5% to 40% - we're on Seamaster 120 territory - I wanted one just for the novelty but could never find a reasonable one, none of them are in good shape either, which is wholesome if you think about it, the watches had their time

Two JDM watches from me, one C-Cased Constellation and a C-Cased "Electrogolf" (They combined Electro and Golf, which I assume was popular at the time in Japan) - along with hard to find 20mm and 19mm Omega loops

There were too many conflicting information about these watches online, ultimately the Electrogolf one ended up being 20mm and the Constellation one ended up being 19mm - none of them are compatible with any bracelet I have laying around, if I was in charge of the design, I'd make both of them accept 518 size endlinks, would be nice to have them in the bracelet family - going to buy one of the grey 300Hz's at one point too, I suspect that one shares the same case with Electrogolf's

Hi Kaplan,

does ur Electrogolf has an engraving on the back?

just found yesterday two of them on y.auctions and was wondering about what it is?

https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-electrogolf.135387/

What caliber is inside Yours?

Thanks & best regards from Japan,
Tako

P.S. the fact that ladies vintage watches are lower in price is discriminatory!
Lol!

The caseback is flat, they all have ESA 9162's inside if I'm not mistaken, I agree with the last comment on your thread, probably the inscription was a late addition - when you buy a 300Hz from Japan, it doesn't work more than half the time, as an fyi 😁

I like the 300Hz Roulette myself

Let me share my latest rare variation as well:

I bought the bracelet elsewhere, the watch ended up being in awesome condition minus someone who can't open a caseback ruining the caseback and the side of the case - apart from that, the case/dial is incredibly well preserved

I call legit. White hands were definitely an option on some models; my blue c-case has them, and here's a picture of almost identical hands in a near-contemporary deVille Dynamic:

Thanks for the examples, gave me hope, I certainly hope it was a choice (bad choice imo πŸ˜€

But those are 1000+ calibre movements too, I didn't pay too much attention but don't recall seeing them on 600-613/561-752 movements before, maybe the hands roughly fit each other

Off topic, I got a navy C-Cased Constellation recently too, I avoided 1000+ calibres as much as possible until now, but super excited for the watch, there's also a day/date variation with a fluted bezel I want one of those too but hard to find dials that don't flake

I saw this recently - it seems Verlux 297 Metalic might fit C-Case's, but one provider I found only had the 300 in size

Also a noob discovery but it might matter, 561-5 date only movements have shorter hands and their crystals have a much lower profile, while 751's for some reason have higher standing hands and higher crystals - it's a way to differentiate cases and if you are buying a 168.027 etc. make sure it's not a case swapped one

A recent purchase for me, 168.028. I have been after a white gold bezel version for a while.
It will be off for a service very soon, but am admiring it on the wrist for a bit first!

I've seen a 168.028 once too, but thought I was misreading the stamp, it was perplexing since you don't see the serial mentioned anywhere - but I thought it was clearly an 8

Is that really a 168.028 or a 168.029?

I took the caseback off and had a better look.
You are absolutely right, it is 168.029, the '9' being misread for an '8'. Well spotted, and thank you for the correction!

C-Case Discovery of the Day: The Star's have wildly different sizes, some are huge, some are small, I couldn't discern a pattern either - and for some reason, ones on gray sunburst dials have a tendency to turn a bit, I had one upside down star, I also noticed a slightly leaning one

I created a thread for it, but my matte black watch arrived, hands in my opinion are painted, but whether the dial is a re-dial or not, it's really beautiful in person

Never thought I’d get one of these, and hoping I haven’t bought a complete lemon- giving the number of β€˜problem' Constellations I read about here.

But brainwashed into believing that I really had to have one and, you know, it wears very well. Thanks OF for persuading me πŸ˜€

Not sure I shall be reconciled to a cyclops date window, but I can always get that changed.
