the 168. 017 is stainless but it might be plate, and I think there were 14 as well as 18k gold cases

My 168.017 pic above here in thread is the gold cap on the steel case with the gold medallion Geneve Observatory on the back ...
The .009 is 18k solid yellow gold ref.
I wish I had that one w the coined bezel in the C case. I think that one is really stunning. Still, all these C cases are Omega in its prime arguably.

Happy New Year everyone!...
Because of this thread, I pulled the trigger on a 168.017 (thank you, WatchVaultNYC!) and it thankfully arrived in time for the midnight countdown to 2019!

Looks good!....interesting...the links of your bracelet look curved in your photo whereas mine are flat. Is that a trick of the lighting or do you have a difference bracelet other than the 1040?

Your eyes don't deceive you, it's a later service replacement bracelet. I can't remember the reference off the top of my head but the links are slightly curved. I constantly consider getting a 1040 and have a couple in my eBay watch list right now, but I think I actually prefer this one so the 1040 might just sit in a box.

Edit: It's the 3011 as per this post - https://omegaforums.net/threads/a-l...029-bracelet-help-its-here.53938/#post-657054

And an update from my side:

Today arrived a 168.0056 featuring a blue dial. I simply had to have it, once i saw it. This is one you do not see every day.

Some pics taken with the phone (please excuse the quality):

Sunburst polish on the bezel still visible:

The info on these 10xx movements is so tiny:

Not a perfect watch, but happy with the purchase. 😀

I bought Div’s, spectaclar watch and one of my favorites- he asked for right is first refusal if I ever sell- he may be waiting a while

And can’t forget this guy-although would these be considered C shaped or D shaped... or just big fat honkin arm anchor?

I have a long memory when it comes to Omegas, and must say I've never seen a dial quite like this, ever. Truly amazing, Thomas. I thought I'd seen 'em all!

Another one to add to my list 😉 . . .
