Depends on the teenagers age , size , build etc . But you wont go far wrong with a GShock GA - 2100 series , plenty of choices ,great price point . Pretty much teen or adult proof & worry free wearing, it can take a lot of abuse too .
It depends because some teenager who don't really give a thing for watches might enjoy a G Shock while some teens who are really into and really love watches might not enjoy the G Shock and might enjoy a classic Omega rather than a G Shock whic will lose value over time
I would disagree with that because if they knew the watch was 1.5k then they will probably value it more knowing that it is expensive.
And in this case, they might consider it too valuable to wear and away it goes in the drawer again, to be only worn on “special” occasions. As always, it depends on the person. If the teenager in question is already into watches, then sure, I think an older Seamaster mechanical is a great gift.
But if said teenager is not really into watches already, you’re better off with a Seiko or G-shock.

Seiko 5 is the commonly accepted gateway drug into ‘serious’ watch appreciation.
My 5 year old is already asking for a watch. Not sure what to get her though😗
