Remarkable to pass on the watch the first time, because it's in the category of "show me another one." Which means that is very hard to find in this condition and it sat for a year waiting for you. That is some very good luck.
Yes, at the time I had moved, bought a house, two cars, and furnished said house so I didn't have as much free cash flow as I otherwise would. The price was high (but reasonable) so when the seller was unwilling to negotiate on price, I had to walk away. Thankfully she came back a year later and at that point, I had rebuilt my war chest a bit! Very lucky indeed.
