The best Clapton Tri-Compax I've seen...is mine!

I was lucky to pick up an incredible, time capsule worthy Clapton Tri-Compax a couple of weeks ago. The seller's family owned a jewelry store for decades and at some point in the last decade, she purchased the watch (presumably through her family's store). She tucked it away in her safe, however, and never wore the watch (I guess she just liked to look at it - I get it!). She listed it for sale a year ago and I came close to buying it, but ultimately her ask seemed a bit too high at the time. A year later, she texted to let me know that she wanted to sell it to me if I was open to the same price - I should have purchased it the first time, so after I serendipitously got a second bite at the apple, I didn't hesitate.

Interestingly, I never really lusted after this dial variation of the Tri-Compax, but upon receiving the watch, I realized that may have been a mistake. In a head-to-head comparison with the Nina, I actually have come to prefer the Clapton, though I readily admit that the crazy condition of the watch may also sway that comparison. Either way, I'm a Clapton convert now!

See below for a few pictures of this stunner, as well as comparison shots to my Nina and Exotic Tri-Compax.

She's a beauty! I need to pull mine from the safe to get a celebrity death match going, because I'll fight you for that title haha.

Just wow, amazing trio and the condition just makes them all even better.

Hard to pick which one would be the primary wearer, but I think you’re right, the Clapton edges it!
