The Best Bond Watch Ever?

The Best Bond watch ever must be a Rolex as intended by the "spiritual father" of the James Bond novels, British Naval Officer (Res) / author Ian Fleming (28 May 1908 - 12 August 1964), who described a gentleman's wrist watch used as a "knuckle duster" in several stories.
Between 1961 and 1964, Ian Fleming ( a name refering to Vlaming, the people of the northern part of Belgium ) wore a Rolex Explorer 1016 wrist watch on a 7206 steel bracelet.
A gentleman's wrist watch (case number 596851) which resurfaced in 1981 and was put on display during the the “Fleming 100th anniversary” exhibition at the IWM - Imperial War Museum from May 2008 to March 2009.

Last week, I was glad to see that the grave monument of the James Bond author has been restored with a new Ian Fleming name plaque (the older one was stolen).
People visting the site leaving little blue Azurite stones, small whisky bottles, Floris N° 89, etc... behind. I left my softcover version of Fleming biography "Goldeneye" at his grave in Sevenhampton Wiltshire - UK.

Sir Bond went to Omega when Rolex refused to service his 6538 as they wanted to slap a luminova dial and hands…🥁

I like the newer Omega tributes to 007 but for me those watches are trying too hard for my tastes. In my opinion the Seamaster professional quartz that Pierce Brosnan first wore is the original and best. In a podcast he mentions the watch and says he still has it and it's still working great. It's also a watch that the average (or below average like me) dude can round up at an affordable price.

I always wondered what happened to the screen worn GoldenEye SMP. I couldn't find the source that Pierce still has it, though I did find a 2025 WSJ article where he mentions he has one from Bond with an inscription on it but then he's photographed in a ceramic so... unsure.

For my money the wave dial classic SMP featured in all of Brosnan's movies and Casino Royale is the best Bond watch, but if it isn't that one it'd have to be the Rolex Submariner. Technically I think the Sub might have had more outings.

Book Bond certainly is a Rolex Explorer (Or OP) man, but movie Bond usually favours divers. The closest he's ever been to an Explorer is the Aqua Terra in Skyfall.

Forgive me if this has been discussed earlier.. but Roger Moore’s famous “buzz saw” 5513 has to be in the conversation:
