Thank you. I was completely unaware the they BBC bought watches for staff. However, your comment about Price being the key feature rings true.

Awesome story and theory! Stories like these makes watch collection so much more interesting! Cant add any knowledge in this case, but fun to read.

Congrats to a very nice looking watch! Though a bit sad that it is cromed case...

The BBC bought loads of watches.
Particularly chronographs.
These were issued (not gifted) to employees for use in production.
Several other variants of Lemania watches used by the BBC are reasonably well documented.
The V7765 variant must have been a very late acquisition, and most likely the last one ever to be a Lemania.
Seeing another one “in the wild” strengthen the thesis that these are the real thing.
Chrome case and Valjoux movement clearly points at cost cutting, compared to the earlier “in house” stainless steel ones.

Just to confirm the case numbers for the SAAF and Arctos WorldTime (and presumably the others in this class) is 'double struck' 11001/11015.

What did the 12001 go for? It’s on eBay currently
The one WATCHES OF KNIGHTSBRIDGE last summer went for lowish GBP800+expenses. With about 25% on top, that should be around GBP1000.

Cheers!
