A few pics… curious if you a familiar with the aircraft pictured. I am not.

I spotted marijuana (spelled marihuana in Canada) during annual eradication efforts in the 1990s. We used our military helicopter.

In the mid 2000s. I was the patrol sergeant coordinating a suicide investigation on the bridge to Port Huron Michigan. Soon after alerting our rescue coordination center in Trenton Ontario, the Detroit Coast Guard flew below us. I immediately told my scenes of crime officer to take photos from above. I have some nice 8 x 10s.

I was in my leather shop today and mentioned the coast guard photo. A regular customer showed me a photo that she took in 2016 or 2017. So cool.

I mentioned RCC Trenton (above). The following link refers to the former commander of CFB Trenton, who is now in jail.

Thanks for sharing your pics! After a bit of sleuthing around on the interwebs, I came up with the following info:
The Canadian military helo is a Bell "Twin Huey" (designated CH-135 by the Canadian military). They were retired from service in 1999.
The red USCG helo is an Aerospatiale H-65 "Dolphin".

The news story of the CFB commander was a bit disturbing. Just think, one of my former COs could have been an axe wielding serial killer 🤔

Anyway, I hope you don't mind me asking, but were you RCMP back in the day?

Thanks for the info. 33 year career between RCMP and OPP (Ontario Provincial Police, and met the OPP colleagues who investigated Col Williams).

While RCMP I was a competitive shooter and was flown cross country to participate (and win) matches. Tax dollars at work. I have a group photo of our shooting team ready to board a RCMP King Air but some of those guys are still active and some worked undercover, so am not posting it.

No worries, and thank you for keeping people safe.
For some reason, your reply reminds me of an old Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon in which there was a Mountie who couldn't arrest someone because it was a woman. When asked why, he said "We always get our man!" ::rimshot::
