Thanks for letting me join this Forum. A few years ago I purchased this watch, now I know it's not the most desirable watch in the Speedmaster stable but given the condition and the fact that it's a complete set I went for it.

Movement stamped 44820156

Case back stamped ST14502278

The case back has been inscribed with what looks like a CW605 with the C curling round the W.

Looking forward to having a good read of this site.

Movement stamped what? That's an extra digit hopefully. 😉

Looks very nice, and it's aways fun to have that complete set. Welcome to the forum.

Hi Patrick,

Welcome to the forum.
Yes, the 145022 78 may not be the most desirable speedmaster to some, but it may be the best speedmaster to others.
You have got a nice full set there, definitely a keeper for me.

I also have a 78, and it's my birth year based on the movement number. Not full set though.

Mine say Hi

Stick around, the members here are more than willing to help and share their knowledge. Not to mention they are generous too. Look around the "open discussion" subforum and u will know why.

Nice watch, and lucky to get the full set. I have a ‘72 (also my birth year) and although many consider this era the “common years”, I think they are the best bang for the buck and I wouldn’t trade mine for anything.

Out of all the watches in my collection this is the one I love wearing/looking at the most. The proportions of a full size Speedy are perfect.
