Terminology question: what's a bumper?

Maybe you don't realize people do because the only thing you ever hear about is when people don't, ie they ask questions that have already been answered...
You only hear about planes when they crash, never when they land on time.

Dammit, will you stop being so sensible and rational? This is a hobby forum full of weirdos and nutcases. 馃槣

Funny you say that, usually men think of women as irrational and sentimental. 馃榿
I'm an optimist.... " stickies shall be read" -- remember my rose glasses?

Yes.

You can also wear a full rotor automatic if you drive a Mazda. (not if it's a stick shift though)

Another one for the "OF dictionary of horological descriptions".
Seriously, what does it mean?
I have now seen the word used to describe what seemed like quite different types of lugs / watches.
Is there / should there be a sticky thread for terminology questions?

Thanks and best regards,
S

Le terme vient de " bumper automatic ", automatique 谩 but茅e ou marteau. Par opposition 脿 l'automatique 谩 rotor qui fait un tour entier.

Here you can see the springs that the rotor contacts. The rotor is removed here and the springs are between the right hand lugs which would be the lower pair of lugs above.

Thank @ChrisN, very kind of you to take the time to post a picture and clarify.

When I was young I spent 2 weeks in a small town in southern France. Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans, Wandering the countryside, orchards and farms and partaking of the local cuisine.
Ce fut vraiment France,Mais il y a longtemps!
