Hi all. Despite being embroiled in a heated tete a tete with the worlds biggest online money transmitter, some good has come in the form of a UPS delivery from Canada.

My question is what you would call this type of dial? I would normally call it a "sunburst" in terms of the shimmer pattern, but it does not spread out from the center of the dial instead simply going vertically across.

    Just curious! Thanks IMG_5434.JPG

I believe this would be more of a "sunburst dial".

To any one interested first sunburst dials start showing up on wristwatches in late 1930s and throughout 1940s. Here are some early to mid 1940s magazine advertisement.

Just for comparison, here's a Rolex with what I'd call a "champagne sunburst" dial.
