Tempted by this WWII pilot’s watch

Saw this walking past a local jeweller’s today. What seems to be a CK2292 30T2. They’re asking around £2500 which seems like a lot, however they are open to offers. Looking at it, it’s had some polishing, but the rest looks very original. Wound nicely and started up very well. Case back clear (polished) so likely civilian issue? Let me know your thoughts. I’d try to get them down to around £1,800 but I doubt that will be possible. I’ve not found any of these sold on here so hard to get an idea of what they should go for.

I love these watches. This one has a nice face - even patina, clear markings. Some humble thoughts:

Seconds hand - maybe original, not sure, but many a 6B/159 has the nicer version (finer with a finial ending).

Lack of 6B/159 inscription usually knocks the value down quite in bit IME.

Drilled out lugs?

Pre-Dennyson case - or a civilian version? Looks stainless or chrome, but I thought these were steel and duralumin. I'd be interested in others' thoughts here too.

Should be a 30T2 SC inside.

Looks like a civie model and overpriced regardless. Don't even waste your time talking him down as your price is still overpriced

If you want one. Check the MWR forum sales corner. Might find one there
