Oh please. It’s crass and inappropriate. It’s actually sad to see grown ass men wearing childish shit like this.
And that's exactly why some people choose to wear clothing like that -- to combat the righteous attitudes of others.

As Archer stated, kids today are exposed to a LOT more stuff then past generations. The kids on my 10-year-old son's sports teams know all the 'major' cuss words. He knows them, too. Once you start really paying attention you realize these words are used often on TV (cable, not major network stations) and in millions of videos that attract pre-teens.

In the end it is just words, and it's up to each individual to decide what offends them and what does not. And if your kid can read those words, who taught them how to read them?

What does it matter what they’re exposed to out in the world? We can still hold our own standards high. People don’t wear stuff like that to combat righteous attitudes they do it for attention. I wasn’t even arguing from the kid standpoint at all. I’m just saying if we talk about having some class, that ain’t it. Makes one look like a fool. If that makes me righteous or elitist then so be it.

My 4 and 5 year old both recently learned the F word from their 5 year old friend who spouts it off like crazy. Wonder where he gets that from. Now it’s making my kids and me look like fools and I gotta deal with that. Should we let 4 year olds freely say the F word whenever? Where is the line? I think that guy is a perfect learning opportunity for children. You can just point at him and tell your kids, “See that guy with the fυck shirt? He’s a moron. Don’t be like him.” Look, all pre-teens and teens are gonna swear. I know I did. They can do that with their friends and know damn well that’s not how they talk to their grandmother or parents. I actually swear more than I should (not around my kids) and am not easily offended. I just think wearing shit like that in public says a lot about a person. None of it is positive. Everyone is judging you at first impression. Just the way it is.

Agreed. Yes, we know the kids all know these words. But as adults, we learn when it’s appropriate to let them out, and when it’s not in good form. They may not know this yet.

I thought the shirt was funny, but in poor taste given the surroundings. Better on a camping trip with one’s buddies, or at the gym. But not with young kids around.

I can out-swear a longshoreman, but that doesn't mean I need my young grandchildren doing the same. I know when to curtail my expletives, others dont I guess.

I don't know if what you say is still valid in present age where cable networks have drastically changed the definition of crass and what children at their age don't know...

I see your point.

I was surprised to be in a debate at a public gym with employees playing music that said things like "n**** f*** that b***" and "you can lick my ***hole". The employee felt it was a generational difference.

In any event, regarding the shirt, I wouldn't want to explain to my young child what the shirt says. So I stand by by statement that it is inappropriate for a flight. If it were at a bar, I wouldn't think too much about it.

I apologize, I didn't mean to get all up on my high horse about it. I just think blaming society or the media is a bit of a cop out. As others have said, it's a situational thing too. At a bar or camping with buddies, go to town. But out in public at a certain point it's just attention seeking and trashy IMO. A good question for parents, would you let your kid wear it to school?

Also, another way I look at it. In the military they call stuff like that a "target indicator". Bumper stickers, etc. Doesn't matter what side you're on it just lets people immediately identify you as the enemy. It's better to be the gray man. Fly under the radar. Blend into your environment like fυcking chameleon. They'll never see you comin'.

Erm - I've got a lot of sympathy with what's being said here, and no I don't have the answers. But it needs a separate thread. Here in the jokes thread, the shirt didn't pass my personal laugh test, so I didn't "like"; it didn't match my own tastes, so I won't be showing it to my friends let alone my kids. But really that's all, because other OFers will each feel different.

How did you know I was an Old F***er? 😀

That's honestly how I first read it.

Will the priest, the rabbi, and the imam please hurry up and get back here! And if anyone's seen the Irishman, the Brit, the Canadian, the Aussie, or anyone who had an embarrassing misunderstanding with their wife or a sexual problem or a knowing kid with a load of innuendoes or a street sign that references intimate body parts by total accident, send them here now!

I told this classic to my doctor - he laughed and said it was true.

A guy had a heart attack a month ago, had heart surgery and now he is recovering and has a doctor's appointment.

He asks his doctor, "now that I had a heart surgery and I am recovering, can I have sex?"

The doctor answers, "yes, but only with your wife. I don't want you to get too excited."

True story, I was at a holiday get-together, and Beverly Hills Cop came on the tv.

One kid says a little confused: "He sounds like Donkey".

I'm told that it's not difficult to locate experienced boners, but long-lasting is another story. 😁
