Just to make clear, you will need to use slightly curved springbars, or apply a bit of force to fit the normal ones into the lugholes.
I already wrote this somewhere before.

Ha!! I think you posted this advice to me last year when I asked the same question! End result (blue rubber on a blue SMP Chrono) is in my "squad" picture right above your post!

Or, if you choose, the "correct" rubber straps are still available.

The original rubber straps aren't anywhere near as nice!

Depends on which one you mean. 😀 I do like the one with the deployant clasp, lots of adjustability. The strap for the GMT, I think, is the one you mean, and it probably isn't, though I like it as well, though not as much as the deployant "sport strap".

Hmmm, I'm not quite sure which deployment sport you're referring to then..... any sample pics you can share?? Whilst I like the rubber, I'd much prefer a clasp over the regular buckle.

Thanks in advance.

Pics are kinda crappy but you get the idea. The strap and the clasp are sold separately, so you need to buy both.

Email Omega and tell them you need the part numbers for the "sport rubber" strap and clasp for the 2254.50.00. They'll give you a number you can call to order it. Of course you could always ask a dealer or boutique to do that for you. I don't know today's exact cost, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's north of $400.

This week's team photo has me focusing on chronographs. The weather we had earlier in the week featured cooler temperatures and lower humidity, so the open pusher Sky Chief spend a bit more than a day on the wrist. The 145.012 was next up, followed by the Zenith today. Some tropical humidity and rain settle in for the end of the week, so the Seiko and the .022 JR Conversion are on deck.

This is the squad I brought on my current trip. Covered on the bases/occasions perfectly. The gold Seamaster probably unnecessary

No such thing as an unnecessary watch 😉

nope. IMHO, that gold Seamaster is most necessary.

Never wore it! Though it was nice to wake up to. The Seiko was the daily through the trip 😀

This thread needs a nudge… Gold watches on my team this week. Most members of this squad have been on the wrist this past week, or will be by the close of the week. Yeah, I’m a bit of a goldbug.

As the season grows cooler, my dress gets more formal, and as such, so do my watches. A lot of gold friends haven’t seen much wrist time lately, but that’s gonna change soon!

I understand the morphing into a more formal mode of dress as the weather gets cooler. And the seasonality of of a gold watch can match up well with that clothing shift.

But I wear these gold cased/leather strap watches with jeans and a button down shirt or a polo just as readily as a suit or sport jacket and slacks. In my view, all of the watches I’ve shown are able to stand alone as a nice looking piece. Almost like a nicely framed picture or painting- it is almost universal in that it can be placed nearly anywhere.

So, with that in mind, I tend to wear these watches regardless of either the formal or informal clothing I’m wearing on a particular day.

…. Ahh… does wearing this gold watch make me look old?🙄

That IWC! 🙄
Cal 88?
Thanks. It’s a Cal 83 Hermet from 1941. It’s my go-to dress watch, and my sons always are eyeballing it when they see it.

Sorry 😟 - I now see I already had just the same swoony reaction when you posted it back in June, and I don't know how I forgot that.
Great to see this terrific piece out again! 🙄
