Take note omega: this is how you do a vintage reissue

Not sure if any of you took a look at the latest releases from watches and wonders. Barely anything caught my eye as typically everything these days is way too big and tacky. Rolex released some more watches with dials designed by children. Tudor bought back the monarch namesake but again is a near 40mm dress watch? I think…. ? Then AP, patek etc are all just priced way out in the stratosphere and I still wonder who’s buying them seeing as most of their releases seem to be catering to an increasing gaudy crowd.

What did catch my eye though is this Oris Star. I couldn’t help but think this is a masterclass in vintage reissues. Still affordable (as far as modern watches go) 1:1 proportions. Plexi Crystal and all that’s really new is a more modern reliable movement and 50m of water resistance.

Personally I really like it. I’m not sure I like it enough to buy one as I’ve never been a huge oris fan but I appreciate how true to the original they’ve been.

If only omega had approached the pie pan reissue like this. But who knows, maybe this will inspire omega to re release a vintage proportioned c case constellation. That being said it’ll likely been near enough 10 grand.

I suppose we should be grateful though given the new universal genevé pole router is 18’000!

Either way I think the c case connies deserve more love so please post some pics

Me too. I don't have room for it in my collection now, but if I were just starting, this might be my first purchase.
