You get invited to a VIP/Press event, you get some goodies, you put them on eBay.

Selling a free ST magazine is a dick move... this is next level.

Really?

It just seems like such a dick move... all the free... and then selling the things you get given?
It was always looked at as incentivizing the underpaid press to "bribe" them to write articles. That was also not a press event, I think at least 1 member here attended.

Not saying it was write or wrong, just how it went.

Perfectly legitimate providing the employer doesn't have a policy about personally profiting from benefits gained while on the job. If not, better it goes to someone who wants it than cluttering up your house, or worse, going into land fill.

If he just straight up doesn't want it, he could give it away... but no, on ebay £600.

The whole "profit from everything" bullshit mentality drives me nuts.

Greed is not good.

Now the listing has been "ended". Did somebody here say something to the seller? 😒

Why would I do that when you've made it clear that you see no issue with a 600% markup?

£2,460,000 plus postage please. 😗

Because you are ethically opposed to making a profit [emoji857]

I'm not ethically opposed to making a profit, I'm ethically opposed to profiteering.

A 600% profit on a free item is profiteering.

The argument can't even be made that he was asking market rate, as there is no market.

He's just some greedy douche canoe, hoping that someone with more money than sense will buy the thing he got given for free.

If I were running PR/Marketing he'd be blacklisted...

The amount of JLC travel cases that went up for sale on eBay after the Redbar event in London, where everyone was given a case as a gift, equally shameful.

Lots of people sell things they got for free. Is there a price at which it would have been acceptable?
