Tag Heuer new Aquaracer battery change. WBP1111

Sharing how we changed the batttery in a new style Aquaracer ref # WBP1111. My friend had taken to a couple watch repair shops and they told him they were unable to remove the back to change the battery. He would of brought directly to us but as he lives a 2.5 - 3 hour drive away and doesn't come into town often, he thought it would be easier to change in his home town. Someone had attepmted to pry the back off and scratched it but fortunately didn't casue any extensive damage.

Bracelet removed:

Bezel Removed: Exposing 6 screws hidden under bezel.

Screws removed:

Back removed:

New battery installed:

Gasket was in excellent condition so we just applied a small amount of silicone lubricant.

Back installed:

Scews and bezel installed: Ready for 100M water test.
My friend does not dive and has no interest in making sure it is water resistant to 300M

Test passed:

Finished and ready to wear:

Not sure why Tag Heuer went to this type of case back. I'm hoping this will save some people from having their watches damaged by someone not knowing how to change these batteries.

Cheers

It's not my style, but this is very nice public service announcement. Well done!

I have an aquaracer I think a quartz tag is requirement in a watch collection but if it took all that for a battery change it wouldn’t be for me

Sorry for the late reply. Used a bezel remover like the one shown below.
