Sorry, more than likely I am out of touch with the price of used modern Rolex, since the only new Rolex watch that I may want to get, when I can afford it, is the Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea.

My in-law has come back to me. He has decided on a Rolex Submariner 116610LV, the green Rolex Submariner LV. He is buying it brand new for Singapore Dollars $11 000.00. I do not know whether or not, this is a wise decision. For that money, I would rather get a good vintage Rolex Sea-Dweller model reference 1665.

Thank-you.

Dear respectable Member Seamonster,
New Rolex list price has steady price hike. So the used ones get the positive effect (meaning always increasing as well). Even for 2012 Indonesian price list (which connected to SGD) increase 3 times. That's why many trader 'smuggle' European Rolexes (scandinavian, German and Greece) to Indonesia, because price difference is significant. Similarly new Omega price difference is also wide, but because it is less popular, seldom someone take the risk to take advantage of arbitrage.

As for your choice of Sea-Dweller.......an excellent one. A beautiful and superb functionality watch. However I found Sea Dweller is too heavy for my wrist hand.......for me Submariner is a more comfortable watch. But in my next list for diver watch is Omega Ploprof, a beautiful yet quirky beast.

Thank you

Your explanation is appreciated. Save for the Deepsea which is technologically very advance, there is nothing exciting about the other new Rolex watches.

Your choice of the Ploprof is indeed excellent, especially the first series one.

Thank-you.
