I love the Skywalker. I just acquired this last week. Currently on a Redux & Co. nylon strap with titanium hardware, but I love the titanium bracelet also. Hasn't left my wrist...

What’s the strap? Very cool.

Thanks. The strap is an Omega Nato like the Si version uses.

I chose black/red to match the colour scheme of the standard SW.

These straps are not cheap, but I have not found any other Nato of the same level of quality at any price out there.

Have been watching the Solar Impulse 2 documentary on Netflix and constantly seeing people wearing the SI version of the X-33 skywalker has been tickling my fancy… just as much as the numbered co-axial HB-SIA version of the Speedy! 😎

For those trying to search for this documentary, you can't find it by searching for Solar Impulse, it's called "The Impossible Flight".

Any idea how much a titanium bracelet would be to add to the SI? I assume I’d need a skywalker version, rather than gen 1/2 bracelet.

I *think* Gen 1 and 2 bracelet works, but Gen 3 bracelet has screws for the link instead of pipe and collar.

To OP, for X-33 gen 2 vs Skywalker, I would go for the feature / function that you want. Both are built well, but the Skywalker does feel like a higher end watch (but it does cost more). and the bigger size still wears quite well for smaller wrist.

Between the two and if I have to pick one, my preference is Gen 2 because ...

- bezel (lume pip) is easier to read
- date format. Skywalk can only show date in DDMMYYYY format.
- can't turn off LCD manually in Skywalker. You have to wait 4 to 5 days with no button press for it.
Skywalker is awesome nonetheless.

Really bad thread, I like the X-33 and this thread keeps that feeling to buy one alive. Not good. 😉

The only other high end watch thats does digital & analog (as nicely) is a Breitling and I don't do Breitling. When this came out I bought it sight unseen and dropped cash on the spot when it was released. Walked in and asked for it, paid and left. It's really an amazing watch that wears perfectly. I love picking it up after not wearing for a while and seeing the face blacked-out. There is literally no visual indication that it is an LCD panel when in power-saving mode and it has that little touch of red to add some pop. BUY BUY BUY

Here‘s the Skywalker on a gen 1 titanium X33 bracelet. Fits really well and looks better than the original imho (which is on a 45th anniversary Apollo). May add scratches on the caseband further up than the normal one - I don‘t care as that isn‘t going back.

Well, you enabling bahstids (as we say in Boston), I broke down and got a Gen 2 pretty much just because it’s a just a wee bit smaller, and 42 hits a sweet spot for me. Looking forward to playing around with it.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of both the Solar Impulse LE (mine) and Skywalker (gave to my son for HS graduation). I put mine on the Ti bracelet, but it also works great with the blue Everest brand rubber strap for a Rolex GMT, and with a blue perlon strap from Strapcode.
Love love love the picture with your son. I plan to do something similar.

Happy owner of Solar Impulse LE. I was afraid of 45mm case, but it's just a number 😀 It is NOT so overwhelming as specification says, very light & wearable. The only thing I have changed was the strap. Not a big fan of NATO, which adds two layers of strap underneath the case, so I converted it into standard 2-piece strap like here on the vid (you will see comparison before & after):

I think Gen3 is really up to todays specs, like the vibrant colours and bezel lume.

Just ordered the titanium bracelet after seeing some photos here on the forum, was also thinking of NNTD SMP mesh, but not so sure, did some amateur visualsation 😉 - what do you think?
