Sub Seconds Dial Question

Hello. I’m brand new to this forum and looking forward to learning more about these wonderful vintage watches especially bumper movement types. I have a 1952 caliber 342 watch with the sub (at the six o’clock) second hand feature. The dial in that area is flat while some dials have a recessed circular area. Why do some watches have this and not others? Thanks.

There are many different dial styles with different design features.

I understand about many dial styles. I’ve seen many like mine that do not have the recessed area. I’m pretty sure the dial is original. Let’s see what folks think after I post a few pictures. Thanks.
