Stuck in an Aqua Terra Dial Conundrum...

Opinions Sought-
Getting a new 38 Aqua Terra but cannot decide whether to go black or blue or white on the dial color.
Black seems most logical, I have another watch with a blue dial and own nothing with a white dial (but my wife does have a Seiko with a white dial which I've tried repeatedly)...
To my mind black hits on every occasion and while I absolutely love the AT blue dial I worry that it feels "too specific" and won't stand the test of time (pun not intended ~ a color that isn't for all occasions and might be too oriented towards Summer, etc) and white -- well white is weird for me: I love it on watches but whenever I try one on I end up not feeling like I'm wearing an everyday watch (which is what the AT will be).

Stuff like this gets asked all the time and while I know it's subjective & even ridiculous to do so (in the end I have to make the decision after all) can I get some opinions I may not be considering?
Said differently: for an everyday watch what color do you prefer and why?

Thank you.

I'd say blue is the obvious first choice always, but as you say, you've got that covered. After that, its always black for me, most versatile, not trendy, just classic never goes out of style good for all occasions and typically appeals to everyone equally. Such a personal choice though, ultimately, you have to go with what you like better and not let morons like me on the internet influence you 😀

I have the 2503.33.00 white dial and the new 38mm blue on rubber. I also tried the black dial and LOVED it but it was redundant with my collection. The blue is stunning and I love the matching blue rubber. If I didn't already have multiple black dials I would have a hard time picking between the black and blue. They are both awesome and you need to decide what you prefer and pull the trigger!!!!

It depends on what you already have in the stable and what your heart wants. I do not find the white or the blue inappropriate for daily use, and of course the black is great for daily use.

Blue for me -- tried on the white and It's very nice also, but the blue is so dynamic, it's like 214 dials in one.

I have always admired the blue dial AT but I always wanted it specifically as a summer watch. I agree that it would probably be more to pull off as your daily driver. Based on that state of your current collection I would probably suggest the white dial AT just to add some diversity.

I read on this forum once “always bet on black”.

A blue AT is pretty iconic, but if you even think you might get sick of it, or you’re afraid it’s not going to be versatile enough for every day wear, you’re probably right. You stated you already have a blue dial watch and you think white is weird on you. Listen to your gut instinct, which from what I gather, is saying to go with the black one.

Here’s why I’m giving that advice: I bought an orange bezel Planet Ocean 2500 in 2010 because I didn’t want another “Sub lookalike”. I literally wore it 24/7 until I bought a Speedmaster in 2019, but I have always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with it. I know they’re cool, but there sure were a lot of days when I wished I had gotten black.

Blue. Bought on leather and bought bracelet separately. White is the only dial colour I don't have of your options. Two blue (BB58 is the other). two black SM300, Speedy and the NTTD SMP. I don't see the blues as restrictive or for a particular look to be honest. Ultimately up to you. For me a white dial would be a Summer look more than the others but I rotate my pieces all year round for variety. Let us know your decision and try on what you're considering.

I have like 5+ blue dial watches, and I'd be fine if I only owned blue dials. I'm thinking this is soon (if not already) considered a classic. Get the blue! You love it. Plus this won't be your last watch, so your next one can be a black dial.

Thank you all for the considered and informative replies, much appreciated.
All of these photos makes me want all three colors... why can't I just be wealthy and buy one of each -- this would be so much easier then!
Just phoned around and found an AD with all three colors in stock (albeit in 41) so I am thinking I need to make a road trip to make the final decision.

Will update soon!

What about the green one? I’ve been trying to decided between that and the blue one

I was trying to pretend that option didn't exist (because it's not only beautiful but it was further confusing my choices) but thankfully Omega made that decision easy for me by offering it only in the 41mm case size.

I have mine in Blue and absolutely love it but If I just go by the Op's initial post I'd say go black. I mean, it seems pretty specific as a preferred choice.

True, but that blue is something pretty damn special -- the way it plays with light is amazing.

Preaching to the Choir SC1. I love mine and truly, during the evenings it pretty bespoke and dark (midnight blue) and with full sun it has the lighter blue hues. Because of the plank design it keeps changing.

So for me it's blue all the way.

This thread inspired me to wear my blue AQT today, it was worth every penny. Whatever you decide won’t a bad choice IMO - but I’m also team blue.

I’d recommend watching the hodinkee 3 under 5K video with the GS, AQT and Rolex OP

If the 41mm in green is not your speed, then I vote for white dial. Clean. Elegant. Legible. I like it very much.
