    Hi,

I recently saw a photo of a 105.012 with a dual-reference, strikethrough caseback that has both the 145.012-68 reference (struck through) and the 105.012 reference seemingly etched on below (see photo).

Has anybody come across this before?

    Thanks!
    Chris

Never seen anything like that before... your watch? I've seen Speedmaster caseback's with two references, but, not one scratched out.
I'm curious what the experts will say as usually you see the HF trademark below the reference number of a 105.012-65 caseback and above on a 145.022. Very interesting...

Just saw one on eBay I believe exactly the same except the 105.012 was “crossed out”....

Looks like we're looking at the same watch. And no, not my piece!

I've seen these before but likewise not with one of the references crossed out. Curious to see if anyone else knows...

I've seen these before too, but the reference being engraved is usually a later one rather than an earlier one. Perhaps it was being used as a service replacement? From what I understand, the typical "engraved reference" casebacks were modified with the 145.012 SP designation when the "special pushers" (SP) were being installed during service.
