One of the things that I love about Seiko is the incredibly wide range of designs they've created over the years. If you look through the archives, there are some wonderfully strange and specific models. Like, metronome watches Soccer timers Collaborations with Italian designers that became sci-fi props And high tech gadgets from yesteryear The Seiko catalog is so big, I'm sure there must be other oddities and curiosities that I've never heard of before. I'm curious, what are the strangest Seikos that you've encountered?
These plus many more in the bottom link: https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/the-weird-and-wonderful-world-of-seiko.979692/
Ok, that might win the category of 'strangest seiko' for me. If they'd just put a pedometer in there, they could have preemptively cornered the Fitbit market.
Indeed... I'm kinda thinking of grabbing one off ebay for guitar practice. Could be the start of my mini-collection of 'surprisingly specific Seiko tool watches.'
Also, I think this is really fun. In good condition, these seem wildly overpriced on eBay, but maybe I'd consider it if Seiko did a rerelease at some point.
I tried to buy one on Reddit guy said I missed it by 10 minutes. I’d love to actually try playing with one on.
Bad, bad, bad fellow Forum member, DSloan! Just ... bad! Now you've gone and done it! I've gone and ordered out a couple of those Seiko metronome watches, one for me and one for our eldest son. And it's your fault!
They're only available in Japan so where else, but Ebay. I used a seller that had the style I wanted and showed 100% positive ratings (if one can take ratings at face value). https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=seiko+metronome+watch&_sacat=0 Yeah, Dsloan has much to answer for. I don't even like quartz watches and I've ordered two because of him.
Dang, I didn't realize I was so persuasive. I should have figured out how to be a Seiko rep before starting the thread - I could of gotten a cut of the action. Please report back on the watch! I think I want to pick one up too.
Give us a review see if it works well playing I do like my swinging metronome but to have one on your wrist would be cool. I could write McCartney like baselines
We have a good ol' wind up swinging metronome here ... somewhere ... still packed away from the 2021 move perhaps. I might even post the Seiko Metronome watch lying on an accordion. I might even write McCartney-like base lines for the accordion. I might not post audio of them being played if I was paid enough to refrain from doing so.
