I noticed just after upgrading Safari that when I open a thread containing an image, there will only be a frame containing the image name for about a second, and then the image loads.
MacBook Pro 13" M1 / Safari 15.6.
Anybody else?
Is this the frame you were referring to? I just updated my phone and noticed it doing what you described. Like you, it only lasts a second and disappears. I had to be real fast to get the screenshot.
I’ve only notice it do this in very picture heavy threads like WRUW. In other threads asking for advice where there are a few pictures, those load instantly, which makes sense.
The frame happens on both my high speed internet and 5GU/W cell service.
Are they loading in almost instantly or is it taking long enough to be annoying?
I can only see it if I intentionally rapidly flick through an image-heavy thread, but they still load quickly.
