Strange “click” when winding?

I picked up this H694390 off eBay to use as a beater and I am digging it. However, it makes this funny “click” about every 14 turns or so when winding. Anyone know if this is normal on these? Watch seems to work just fine and keep time very well.

pic for the record:

Broken mainspring? Does the spring wind fully (i.e. comes to a stop), or does the crown keep turning indefinitely?

I have a couple of regular automatic wearers (Eterna & Longines) that click when I give them a wind.
They run accurately, have a great power reserve and, until they go wrong, I’ll probably leave them alone.

It acts completely normally in every way—winds to a fully wound state, makes normal winding sound except for the click, power reserve is great, etc. Function seems to be totally normal except for this loud click which happens about 4 times at regular intervals during a full wind, or less often for partial winds.

Yeah maybe that’s the path of least resistance at this point.

missing a tooth on the ratchet wheel?
That actually sounds plausible to me, though I’m certainly no watchmaker. Let me see if I can get a video.

its a manual wind and not an auto right?

I don't suppose you can open the case for a movement shot? I would be concerned by how regularly the click happens making me suspect a broken tooth. Which leads to, where did the broken tooth go?

I’ve decided to return the watch, so I don’t want to open the back at this point. If I was stuck with it I would definitely pop the back off for a look. Thanks for your input.
